How do i restore factory defaults

To restore the computer to the Original Factory settings perform the following steps:
Turn off the Computer
connect it to the Power outlet with Adapter
Turn on the laptop
The moment you see the Dell Logo, Press the Ctrl Key and start tapping the F11 key. You will get a screen which will give you options to restore the computer. Select the option which says Restore to Original Factory Settings. It will run the restore and your computer will be restored to Factory setting within 15 - 20 minutes.

Note: you will lose all the programs and applications that you have installed and also the files and documents stored in your computer (including the email in Outlook). You computer will be as it was when you first Purchased it.

P.S: You can restore the system to Factory settings only if you have not formatted or replaced the Original Hard Drive.

Cmos jumper or switch dell e1505

Hi there.
As far as i know there is no CMOS jumper in the dell E1505, but what you can do is remove the motherboard battery for an hour to hopefully reset the bios.
Take the main battery out of the laptop as well as the AC power supply so the laptop is receiving no power at all. Push the lid back as far as it will go and remove the hinge cover like this >>>>
ec4b612.jpg
Now you have to lift the keyboard, there are 2 screws at the top of the keyboard so unscrew them and gently lift the keyboard up like this >>>>>>
8b42c8e.jpg

You will see in the illustration the motherboard battery, just take it out for an hour and then put it back in, please be careful with the keyboard as there is a delicate ribbon cable, if you have to, remove the keyboard from the motherboard.
To release the keyboard cable from the keyboard connector on the motherboard, rotate the plastic bar on the keyboard connector toward the front of the computer.

Please post back with the results and more help if needed, good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

I/0 card parity interrupt at F000:E1AD. Type (S)hut off NMI, (R)eboot, other keys to continue

Hi there,This error refers to an expansion card having an issue. If you've got any cardbus, wifi, bluetooth, etc cards take them out and see if that resolves the issue. More info here: http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f217/i-o-card-parity-interrupt-at-f000-e1ad-417586.html

Inspiron E1505 will not complete the boot sequence and is stuck on the dell logo screen with error message

Try running the Check Disk Utility.

To run the check disk utility you will need a repair disc or a operating system disc. Put the disc in the cd drive and boot from it. You want to get to the Dos Command Prompt (Black screen with white letters) and type the following command: chkdsk /r Check disk will run well over an hour or two and you will notice the percentages going from high to low, this is normal. Let it run to completion. Then reboot machine. If check disk fails to solve your problem you might have to reinstall windows. Try doing a Repair Install that way you don't loose your data, documents, music, pictures, videos or programs. In windows xp you get to the dos command prompt by selecting R for repair when the options appear. In Vista and Windows 7 you want to get to the recovery console and look down at the bottom of the window for the Dos Command.

I cant get knights of the old republic: sith lords to play on my inspiron e1505

There may not be a fix your machine may not handle the requirements necessary to run this graphics game high end. You can always upgrade more memory and a better video card just a suggestion. Some games just are hard to load and maintain quality and speed while glitching or freezing up that is lack of resources or to many open programs while playing the games. Stuff in the background may be running you do not need running all this has its factors in keeping a game on track. It could also be that your machine needs a good cleaning or defrag. There are so many different reasons when I play a game I use a gaming computer which is basic and no other software is installed but games period and the operating system to run the games. I do not use my PC or laptop for both. One thing at a time unless you have a good gaming laptop or PC you will have these issues every time. That has been my experience............John

Dell Insprion E1505 audi isn't working.

Try uninstalling the Bluetooth audio driver and then install the audio driver using the Service tag number. You can download the device drivers from Dell WEB site, the support download page. Make sure you select your model desktop or laptop, better still, type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on thebottom of the laptop and on the back or sides of a desktop. (If the Service Taglabel is missing then go into the BIOS setting and on one of the BIOS pages, the Service Tag number will be displayed). This will open the page where thespecific drivers for your model computer are located. Also make sure you selectthe Windows of the drivers for your Windows operating system.
