there must be some discs or software that you need to install and after a format and getting the software to synch it that should resolve it - am guessing they have made there own software that should format it correctly for you.

If you ever find that you have to deal with a wet device, don't just abandon it.
Instead, try the following method to repair the water damage:
DO NOT TURN IT ON!
Take it apart as much as you can. Take out the battery, the memory card and whatever else can be easily disassembled. (Just make sure you can put it back together.)
Store the parts in an air-tight container covered with either dry rice, silica gel packets or kitty litter. These will absorb the moisture from your electronics device, leaving it water-free.
If no rice, gel packets or kitty litter are available, try using a vacuum to **** the water out.
DO NOT blow-dry the parts, it will only force the water farther in and cause more damage.

fabricant says no but... yes. it is possible, but it is a hard task... to use philips gogear on a mac, switch your data connection on options to msc. after that, you can plug as a usb driver. if you want to sync it with itunes, you need to use a program called itunemywalkman, at this program, you will configure paths for pictures, videos, musics e etc, then sync.

I have done that and it still not working,

Go to the Philips website. Find your device, then find the software update for you player and download it.
The software update should fix your player's problems

It is a fluke - I can't remember exactly, but it either happens before you upgrade the firmware or after - there is no solution - you can even call Philips to verify.

You might have accidentally deleted key system files, but this is worth a shot:

Recovery Mode for Philips' GoGear
Disconnect the player from the PC, and make sure the mp3 player is turned off. Hold in the volume + button on the mp3 player, and reconnect the player to your pc while holding in the volume + button. Continue holding the volume + for 10-15 seconds until a "Found New Hardware Wizard" pops up. It should recover your device if there isn't anything internally wrong with the player. Warning: this procedure will result in your songs being erased off the player, so they will have to be reloaded.

Philips GoGear Firmware Upgrade
You need to get the latest firmware upgrade from the Philips website:
1. Go to www.philips.com/support
2. Enter your country/language
3. Enter your model # SA6045 or whatever
4. Click on the link for your exact model # (the one w/o the "B" in it)
5. Click on "Software & Drivers"
6. Download the updated "Device/Firmware Manager"
7. Once installed, open the Philips Device Manager
8. Click on the "Update" tab, then the "Update" button (with your mp3 player connected to the computer, of course)
9. Your Mp3 players firmware will update automatically
If you do not have the latest version of the Philips Device Manager installed (the latest is the version from the Philips website), then clicking the "Update" button will give you a false positive saying "The firmware on your device is already up to date."

Try treating your MP3 player just like it was a flash drive (which it really is, sorta). Hook up the USB, "explore" it, and then "format" the drive ("k:/phillips" in my case).

I have this same problem - only my MP3 player won't even turn on because of this "File System Error" message. I charged and loaded some more music on last night...unplugged and took it to work this morning to find it not working! HELP!

You can try running a Repair in the Philips Device Manager, but it will probably not work - get a replacement - either through the store or Philips. I can tell you exactly why the msg is coming up, but I've explained it so many times over the last year, i am tired of explaining so many times. just trust me. Run repair - when that fails - get it replaced.
