How do i use the equal sign when solving an
You enter the problem into the calculator and when you are finished you press the equals sign to make it give you the answer to your problem.
Here is an example;
If I wanted to know what the sum (or total) was for 2 + 10+ 16 - I would enter the number 2 and then the plus sign + and then the number ten and the plus sign + and then the number sixteen and the plus sign again + and then press the equals sign which looks like this =. when I press the equals sign = the calculator gives me the answer to my question of what the total of those numbers are.
I hope this helps?
I wanna solve quadratic equation
Set the computational mode to EQN: Press [MODE] and select the number corresponding to EQN. You will have the choice between linear, quadratic, or cubic. Select Quadratic. You will be given a template where to enter the values of the coefficients a, b, c. Enter the values of the coefficients in the right order and press [=] at the lower right side.
How do I enter a
Well, the short story is that this calculator cannot do symbolic algebra: it does not have a CAS (Computer Algebra System). However you can enter symbolic expressions using the variables A,B,C,E, X and Y. Use the sequence [ALPHA] [A] to enter the letter A, etc. To type in the symbolic = sign, use the [ALPHA] followed by the key at the top left corner of the keypad that has an = next to it.When you enter an equation (two expressions linked by an =), press [ALPHA][SOLVE] to solve the equation for tha unknown X. You will be prompted to enter the values of all other letter symbols : A,B,C, D, Y, etc. When all symbols (except X) have been given a value the calculator will find the value of X that satifsfies the equation.

When a result is displayed as a fraction or a radical (let us just say not in decimal format), you can convert it to its decimal representation by pressing [S=D].
If you do not want anything to do with fraction or radicals, just configure the calculator to use LineIO.
To do so, press [SHIFT][MODE] to open the (setUp) confoguration screen. Choose [2:LineIO].
I just want to know
It's the key marked "x superscript -1", just right of and below the big circular cursor pad.
My calculator keeps giving a
The error is in the eyes of the beholder. In scientific notation your value of 0.0095 is written as 9.5*10^(-3). Actually the calculator showed you more digits than you were asking for and its answer is more precise that yours. When you choose the Input/Output of the calculator to be LineIO, it will show the results as decimals. Howvever if the number to be displayed is too small or too large, the calculator will use the scientific notation.
To do exact calculations (whenever possible) set the Input/Output mode to MathIO. The result will be a fraction (19/1981). After that you can press the [S-D] button to convert that exact result to its decimal representation.
If you do not mind my advice, I suggest you learn how to interpret scientific notation, and familiarize yourself with the capabilities of this new type of calculators.
To configure the calculator for MathIO, press [SHIFT][MODE] to open the (SetUp), then select [1:MathIO]. In this mode, you will be able to see the expressions you type in as they would appear in a textbook:Fractions will appear as fractions, you will see radicals, etc. You can do a string of calculations in MathIO and convert only the last result to its decimal representation.
My Casio fx-300ES calculator has
That is what you will get if your calculator is configured for the Line IO mode. If you want fractions to appear as in a textbook, you should configure your calculator's Input/Output mode to be MathIO. To do so press [SHIFT][MODE] to enter (SetUp) and select [1:MathIO]
My calculator is giving me
Sorry the answer comes too late for your final exam. If you took the time to really understand what the inverse of a log function is, you would have saved yourself the anxiety before the test.
Anyway, the inverse of the logarithm in base 10 IS the power function with base 10.
y=log(x) <=> x=10^(y).
Some calculator manufacturers use the marking ^-1 to represent an inverse function. But recently one sees new calculators with the new notation.
By the way, the inverse of the natural log function (LN) is the exponential function (e^(x))
I tried to enable the
Well, you cannot have them both at the same time. The calculator has two input/output modes: The MathIO and the LineIO (the old one). In MathIO you have textbook display. Expressions are entered and displayed as they appear in textbooks. In the LineIO mode expressions are entered on a single line (the old way).
You have to choose which one you want, because you cannot have them both enforced at the same time.
I suggest you use the natural display (textbook). After a result is displayed, you can press the [SD]
key and the result will be converted to a decimal number.
You can also press [SHIFT][=] instead of [=] to force the display to be in decimal format.
How to convert mililiters to milimeters
Seeing as how one is a measurement of a liquid and the other a measurement of distance there is no way to do this. One can not measure the distance of a liquid, because it would depend on how thin it was spread.
Best of luck
How to get my fx-300es
I am not sure about what you want.
- Decimal results or fraction/radicals?
- Decimal numeration as opposed to binary/octal/hexadecimal?
For the first case, set Input/Output IO mode to
LineIO (SHIFT MODE 2:LineIO)
For the second case set Computational mode to COMP etc, but NOT to BASE-N
HOW CAN I INSERT THE
Same question, same answer.
Sorry, but you cannot.
You
can type in a formula that involves the memory variables X,Y, A, B,C,D,
E, =, . Such a formula is meant to be evaluated to get a solution (X
by default). Once you type the formula you press the Shifted function
SOLVE and you will be prompted for the constants, for Y etc. when you
press the EXE/= key you get the value of X.
If you turn off the calculator or change the calculation MODE, it is wiped out of memory.
To
make a long story short, you cannot STORE formulas in the calculator.
Better try to memorize them (commit then to YOUR OWN memory).
Trying to find the surface area of a sphere given
Almost exactly the way it's written in the book.
In the LineIO mode press
3 SHIFT [xth-root] 5 0 0 0 * 3 / ( 4 * SHIFT [pi] ) ) =
In the MathIO mode press
SHIFT [xth-root] 3 right-arrow 5 0 0 0 * 3 / ( 4 * SHIFT [pi]) =
xth-root is the shifted function of the key just below and right of the big round cursor pad.
* is the multiply key
/ is the divide key
pi is the shifted function of the x10^x key in the middle of the bottom row
BTW there's no "square root" in this problem. There's a "cube root" or "third root". Square root is the second root.
How do you get more
Press SHIFT then MODE. You can then press 6 to select Fix, followed by the desired number of digits after the decimal point, or press 8 and select one of the two Norm modes.
Full details are on pages E-5 and E-6 of the manual. If you need a manual, you can download it at

None of the numeric buttons
That is normal: In binary numeration you only have two digits 0 and 1. Get the calculator out of BASE-n calculation mode.
Press [MODE] and select 0:COMP the general calculator mode.
