Fuzzy screen on Gateway FPD1975W TFT LCD Monitor

With the pixels acting up and the monitor having the same problem on any computer that its connected to. The screen itself is bad and since there are no replacement screens for that monitor, you would have to buy a new monitor or get it replaced if its under warranty.

guest, If you do not have any time to explore (investigate, read) then trade your old unit for new!! If that not option you wish to take , then read fixya monitor profiles of "louie12fix" , "budmrtn", "buddymc" and other tech's that specialize in repair of "cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamp back-lit lcd monitors. Follow all "links" you find in the profiles and view some video clips on YOUTUBE that deal with "lcd monitor disassembly" and "lcd monitor repair" to learn just WHY your unit acts the way it does. Why don't you try the "flashlight-test" that EVERY owner of an lcd monitor should know when a BLACK or BLANK screen shows up when it shouldn't be there in the first place. My best guess is that your monitor's problem is internal to unit and not a software problem. 12fixlouie Bye for now

My Gateway FPD1975W Shows only red,green,

When you have strange problem like this, first thing to look for will be the power supply section, look for bad caps with leaking/bulging tops and go from there.

Monitor flickers on and off and won't stay on

Open the monitor, examine the circuit boards. Look for small components that look like small cans, these are capacitors. If you see any that look bulged on top, then your problem can probably be solved by replacing these. Check out the following sites;

Follow the directions and good luck!

The monitor of my laptop always turning off

Try hooking up the external and THEN turn on the laptop to see if you get the picture OK. Most failure are due to bad backlight inverter board, you can also check to see if the connection to the inverter baord is OK, it is located under the front bezel of the laptop.
