I recently bought a used LCT2060 that had no remote. I figured my comcast cable remote would work without a problem but it didn't. So 3 universal remotes later I found my solution...a radio shack universal gamer remote. It controls up to 5 components plus your xbox360, playstation and pc. The price on sale was a mere 12.97, not bad if you ask me. Hope this helped. The code that worked for the Akai was 11676. Take care...

It seems that your unit has some sort of Video side, PSU fault, or a problem to the Video section that is shutting down the Power Supply Unit, PSU. It is the sound that gives it away. This happens so that no further damage, and possible fire will occur. It is probably the PSU.
You need to take the unit to a reputable service centre/man and ask for a firm "Quote" for the work to be done.

NEVER!... Never, ever junk it.

Check for bad capacitors on the capacitors on the power supply.

Thanks for using FixYa. The issue that you are facing is with the Power Supply. You’ll need to take the back off the TV and check for any bulged/swollen capacitors. The basic parts of a power supply include diodes, caps and ICs to control transistors. You might even find a bulged capacitor. The part no. for the power board is E7802-004009. Also check if the main board is getting voltage. It is only recommended a DIY if you have electrical expertise and know how to solder/re-solder components, if not then it’s always recommended to contact a qualified repair tech.

Look to see if you have a fan on the backside.
If so this may be not working! How old is the unit?
Look, it may have alot of dust in the fan.

Hi,

This is a Common Problem on most of the Televisions. There could be many reasons. But, more Often, it would be Power Supply Board. You need to Open the TV, unplug the wires from Power Supply Board, pull it out and check it. More Often, you would find Either a Loose Solder connection or Leaked / Bulged / Swelled capacitor. You need to note down the part number and you could order it online or go to Radio Shack or Local Hardware shop and purchase it. Once you solder it, it would be all set.

Call for warrenty service,ur tv backlight video is dead,or dying.Unplug,replug the tv an hour might have video back,but must replaced it sooner or later.

Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.

It does have a fuse inside the case next to the power supply,not sure if thats youre problem,may be.

Most likely you have a bad inverter PCB. The inverter lights the backlights so that the LCD portion can be viewed. Shine a bright flash light very close to the front of the set while it is on and look very closely for a picture around where the flash light is. If you can see any little bit of picture it is the inverter. If not the LCD panel is bad. Thanks for using fixya.

U have any light at all?Than it not power supply.Tries these websites for parts.Tv repair World.com,Shopjimmy.com,Partstore.com or Ebay.com for the video backlight board or power supply.

I do not have the code for your model however the AKAI codes for LCD tv's are as follows
0105, 0002 0077 0254 Try these see if one works.

We need to verify if the problem is in the preamp or poweramp sections. Hook up the powered PC speakers to the AUDIO Line out RCA jacks and verify that sound is OK there, if it is OK, The problem will be in the power amp sections that drive the speakers. If it sounds bad at the RCA jacks, the problem will be in the sound processor board which mean the main board will have to be replaced, same if the power amp is bad.

You can fix this TV very easily and inexpensively if you know how to use a soldering iron and aren't afraid of some intricate work....

It is your power supply Capactors that are blown...Remove the back of the tv and look at the power supply and look for the round capacitors that have blown (see the non-flat tops usually w/discoloration).....Usually it is 3 of the 1000uf 16v capacitors that need to be upgraded....(Shown in the first picture below)

Just pull use a soldering iron and remove the leaking/blown ones and replace with higher voltage ones....I used Panasonic ECA-1EHG102 25V 1000uf ones from Digi-Key (Digi-Key p/n P5544-ND)....


If it is the two larger ones that are leaking/blown (1000uf 35V as seen below one bulging and one blown/leaking) replace those with higher quality Panasonic ECA-1VHG102 ones as well (Digi-Key p/n P5555-ND)...Digi-Key is at www.digikey.com and they ship fast and offer great prices...



I just did this to my TV and it is now working again....

Did teach me a very valuable lesson about AKAI Product --- NEVER AGAIN.......
