Akai LCT2715 27 in. LCD Television - Page 9 Questions & Answers
Blinking red light, loud clicking/buzzing noise.
You are right that this is a common problem for plasmas regardless of the brand. They all have similar boards on the inside that do the same thing and usually it is after a couple years of use. If your set has quiet cooling fans on the back, they after time attract alot of lint and dust and moisture from the ambient air that causes alot of y-sus and z-sus boards to fail. I would at least take the back cover off and blow out all that dust that has accumulated. If it is out of warranty as I am sure it probably is after 2 years, you certainly will not hurt anything. Call tech support at AKAI, I am sure you will not be the first to log in this complaint. Those tvs are suppose to last through 60,000 hours of use (20 years). Be firm with them and they may just give you a replacement. Some people have been successful at pleading their case after the 2 years are up on the warranty.. I hope this helped. God bless and good luck.
Akai 50" picture went completely black no
The inverter that runs the backlite may have failed. Check to see if you have 24 volts going to the inverter and if you don't then the power supply may be at fault. If you can't check this yourself the you will need a tech. This is common on these sets
No signal on my t.v.
Check the source. ie TV/ video 1. From the remote make sure it is in the TV mode. Somes time it gets changed when you push the power button and hit the source by mistake. Always look for the obvious first.
TV screen won't come up
The power supply board or inverter. The power supply board is the first step. Look for any capacitors that are puffed up. Replacing them should take care of the PS. Check to see if you have 24 volts going to the inverter. If you do PS is OK and the inverter is most likely bad...good luck
No power indication
The
solution at this point would be to get the power supply repair since new boards are not longer being manufactured. In about 95% of the time if the LCD doesn't power up or turns OFF by itself or need to be unplug for some time to make work again; those are the
symptoms of a dying or defective power
supply.
I service these power supplies, for more info write to

Locked Channels and V Chip password
Contact any TV repair service , they should be able to tell you the default password over the phone, if that does not work then the Television has been damaged in the main board, and most likely a replacement will be needed.
This is the best I can do for you I do not have access to this models password default setting.
let me know how it works out please.
TV will power up
sounds like a bad power pack, blown capacitors most likely.
it can be replaced or the caps can be soldered into the board to replace the bad ones.
My tv keeps going off too but where is the
The switch you were talking about is not on every Akai only some of them have a power switch on the back panel, People in the forums are not what I would call "experts" many of them are just regular people who tried something and it worked. The issue with your TV is not a simple on / off switch, it is related to bad capacitors on the power pack and the more you use it with bad capacitors the more damage will occure to the video processing board.
LCT2785TA will not turn on
these TV's have power pack issues thith the capacitors, you should have them checked and see if some are blown or bad.
hope this helps.

Significant volume decrease when using Comcast cable box
you might have to talk to comcast about that most signals are low for reasons of conservation of bandwidth, they may also be sending 5.1 which tends to be lower volume and adds surround in.
mono is always loud, and that is what you get with 75 ohm coaxial cable (single screw in ).
hope this helps.
