To transfer music from computer to ipod first download itunes....after downloading install the itunes...it may take 10min to install...connect your ipod to your laptop.....n try to sync it with itunes...u can then easily copy from itunes to your ipod.....

I was experiencing this similar problem, and from my research so were alot of other people, what finally worked for me was this:

• Update all the software on your computer via Phillips site
  
• Open the Philips Device Manager
• With the device connected and the 'connected to pc' screen showing on the GoGear, do a 'soft reset' by holding the Power Off + Volume Up buttons for a few seconds
• As soon as the device restarts itself, hold the Volume Down button, the computer should now recognize the GoGear
• Follow the onscreen directions to Repair the device
• Thank the intarwebs.
  

update your BIOS, update ur bus controller software and video controller, all can be download from dell, update your windows.

First, try to isolate the problem to make sure that the charger is defective.

Try using a known working charger and see if your device will charge. If it does, then buy another charger. But if not, slowly wiggle the charger connector and see if the power jack is loose.

If you find out that the power jack is loose, try to use a long nose pliers and turn the power jack clockwise to tighten it.

Plug it into your computer via a USB cable. Open Windows Explorer, click on My Computer, click on Control panel. When there, double click on System. This brings up a screen called System Propertied, click on the tab "Hardware" and the top section is called Device Manager. Click on device manager, this will bring Device Manager up and should be able to diagnose the problem with your MP3 player. If it shows a yellow trianglewith a ! in it, it means there is a problem with drivers, but you will have to do it to see what it says.

Try downloading and installing I tunes to your pc.
Then connect i pod to pc.

Could be out of sync, i tunes should correct problem.

my mp3 player is not updating

Hello,

the truth is, no one will be able to help if they don't understand Chinese or Japanese.

The best thing for you to do now is to look for someone that has exactly the same type of your Philip Gogear, that is also in English language.

Go to the menu, look for the languages settings and locate where English can be selected on the Player.

Follow the same steps on your player and you will get to where you will select English on our player.

This is what I do for phones that is not in English language, and I have used it to solve a lot of problems. It works for me big time.

Give it a trial and your problem would be solved.

DO NOT RESET IT JUST CONNECT IT TO YOUR PC AND FORMAT IT BY CLICKING RIGHT ON THE REMOVABLE DISK DRIVE ICON AND CLICK ON FORMAT THEN PUT YOUR SONGS AGAIN BUT BY SCANNING THEM BY ANY ANTI VIRUS BECAUSE HANGING IS DONE BY VIRUS.

To resolve the freezing a soft reset may help:

1. Press and hold the Power on/off key and the volume + key for a couple of seconds.
2. Then switch on the GoGear using the Power on/off key.

Note: Your songs and data will not be lost or corrupted by a soft reset.

Follow next steps only when the reset did not help.
When the player still freezes a firmware update will be required.

i have philips go gear 2 gb i pod

you try formatting your go gear mp3 player. 

my philips gogear 30 gb won't sink it keeps saying connect to computer, even though i do. HHHHHHHHHHEEELLP

Press the reset button on the back. If that does not work then you need to reflashthe firmware. This is done by downloading the flashing tool and new firmware off the Philips website. Make sure you backup all our music because reflashing will delete everything. Thanks for using Fixya. ~WEBMASTER21
