How do you time a hd110 singer sewing machine

Be sure to try a brand new needle first. If it still doesn't pick up the bobbin thread, then it possibly is out of time. Search for: sewing machine timing.

The bobbin thread will not raise with the needle

1. REPLACE NEEDLE W/FLAT PART AWAY FROM YOU. 2. MAKE SURE THE TOP THREAD IS PROPERLY THREADED. 3. INSURE BOTTOM BOBBIN IS ROTATING RIGHT DIRECTION. (USUALLY COUNTERCLOCKWISE) ALLOW THREE INCHES OF THREAD PULLED AWAY. 4. HOLD TOP THREAD W/LEFT HAND AND ROTATE HAND WHEEL TOWARDS YOURSELF. DOES IT BRING THE BOBBIN THREAD UP? 5. IF THE BOBBIN CARRIER IS INSTALLED PROPERLY THE HOOK (POINTED OBJECT) UNDER THE BOBBIN SHOULD "HOOK" THE TOP THREAD AND BRING THE THREAD AROUND THE BOBBIN THREAD. THE NEEDLE AND TOP THREAD SHOULD BE PULLING THE BOBBIN THREAD UPWARDS. IF THE HOOK DIDN'T "HOOK" THE NEEDLE THREAD THE PROBLEM IS THE DISTANCE OF THE NEEDLE AND HOOK APART OR THE TIMING. YOU MAY TRY TO MOVE THE NEEDLE TO THE LEFT SIDE AND AGAIN TRY ROTATING THE HAND WHEEL. IF IT DOESN'T WORK THEN TRY TO MOVE THE NEEDLE ALL THE WAY TO THE RIGHT AND ROTATE THE HAND WHEEL. IF IT BRINGS THE BOBBIN THREAD UPWARDS IN EITHER CASE IT WILL SHOW A PROBLEM WITH TIMING. THIS WILL NEED TO BE ADJUSTED BY A PROFESSIONAL. 6. REMEMBER TO PUT ONE DROP OF OIL ON THE RACE TRACK BEFORE YOU PUT THE BOBBIN CARRIER IN.

Top thread bunches under the fabric

check that the stitch setting is correct for the type of stitch you require, also make sure the thread tension is tight enough, get a piece of rag and alter the tension till it goes right.
Check that the spool bobbin is feeding the thread correctly from underneath and that there is no trapped thread clogging the spool mechanism

How to insert the bobbin case on

Download the instruction manual for your machine free at the Singer sewing machine site. It is pictured on page 14, and explained on page 15. The flat part is designed to go under the needle; there is a projection that sticks out on the right towards the bottom that is designed to go against a silver tab to prevent the case from spinning while in operation. It is helpful to insert it so that the flat part is slightly clockwise of where it is supposed to be, then turning it counterclockwise into place. Make sure the case is level in the basket.

The motor stalls up

If you cleaned it, oiled and lubed it with quality sewing machine oil and lubricator, and it's clearly not a problem w/cord falling out of wall or machine, it may need motor replaced. Easy fix for your local dealer if that's what it is. Jimmy

How to put feed dog down on HD110

You either have a cover in your accessories pack, or there is a lever next to your bobbin case door. I suspect with the drop in bobbin that you have a little dark plastic cover to put over the feed dogs when you darn etc. Your manual should explain all of its uses. If, you didn't get a manual with your machine, call Singer and complain because it is a very important piece. Their number is 1-800-4singer. Make sure that you register your machine with them, also on their site www.singerco.com Good luck and happy sewing.

Thank you.

Try this, totally rethread, now with the presser foot up, pull top thread, it should feed smoothly, now put the presser foot down, pull top thread, it should barely move. This should seat your thread in the tension discs. A new needle will not hurt, be sure that you insert it with the flat side facing away from you. Try your tension on 3 and see if that helps. Do Not Turn Your hand wheel away from you, always turn it towards you or you will mess up your timing. Use a magnifying glass on the diagrams if you need to, I know it makes it easier for me to see exactly what they are showing. Good luck.
