If this is a gas dryer that requires a 110VAC service, or if this is not for US Standard wiring, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

My dryer will start and then stop when it gets hot

Lint build up in the duct will do that. If that's clear, it could be a problem around the fan area. You have to take the machine apart to check that. While apart, vacuum everything, including all the crooks and crannies of the motor. Your motor could be worn out if the machine is real old, ten years or more. Wiggle the motor at both ends, it should spin smoothly, not move up and down at all.

My magic chef dryer heats but will not blow air

A dryer fan is usually directly connected to the motor. If you hear the motor running, maybe the fan broke off, or the duct is really clogged.

Dryer makes a loud buzzing noise then quits working.

Sounds like the motor's done. That thing is probably the start-run switch. Not worth trying to fix on an old motor. I've found dryer motors to be fairly generic, you should be able to find a replacement. I use Repairclinic.com when I can't get parts locally.

Heating unit

First thing to check is your air flow, check the vent on the outside of the house where the exhaust enters. Should be blowing pretty hard. Any restriction will cause the heat to turn off after a couple of seconds. Hope this helps. Dave www.washermd.com

make sure you are getting a full 220v at the outlet. these symptoms are sometimes caused by one side of a dual circuit breaker in the house tripping leaving you with a partially functioning machine that seems to have power. d8d2a06.jpg

Dryer problem

I could be wrong, but I don't know of a dryer that DOESN'T use a belt to turn the drum. If the motor is turning on, and the drum is not spinning, more than likely your suspicions are correct and the belt is broken. You can find a replacement at searspartsdirect.com. Just type in the model number you have provided and look under the "Tumbler" heading for item number 5 (part #341241). The website also offers some helpful exploded view illustrations to assist in part location and installation.

Repairclinic.com carries the part at a cheaper price (item number 529597). Use the part number provided by the Sears website for your search criteria. Repairclinic also offers dryer belt installation diagrams. Just click on the "Repair Help" link at the top of the page and look under the "Special Features" section on the following page for "Dryer Belt Diagrams". Magic Chef uses diagram F. I hope you find this information helpful. Let me know if you have any questions.

Dryer is broken

Hello co5nixons,
Will offer a few things for you to try.. First off.. are you sure you haven't lost one power leg of your incombing power feed? You may want to get a friend that is an electrician or someone that can check your input power at both the receptacle and the terminal block inside the dryer. If youi are missing one phase of power, you may get the electronic control system to look like it is operational but your motor or heater element will not work.. That is where I would start..
Please get back to me if you or someone you know checks that and it is OK.. I'll try to help you resolve this...
Regards

Magic chef dyer

dryers have a 'thermal fuse' that will cause the whole thing to turn off. it seems like yours has burned out. it may be caused by a restriction in airflow, so when you replace the thermal fuse make sure you clean the exhaust or the fuse may go out again.

Magic Chef cye4000ayw stopped working -

If you have nothing going what so ever, there is a fuse that is possibly blown that is attached to the heater housing on the back part of the shell. The fuse part number is LA-1053 and cost is 18.95 retail. There are also 2 thermostats that are recommended to be replaced at the same time, hi limit thermostat part number is 53-0771 and cost is 29.75 located on the heater housing also, and the control thermostat located on the motor housing part number 31001192 and the cost to you 22.11. If you can't find these parts at a dealer locally, I suggest calling Marcone Appliance Parts warehouse at 1-800-482-6022. The part numbers and costs are from there inventory. If you would like to see parts breakdowns and wiring diagram, please send me an e-mail to [email protected] and I will be glad to forward pictures to you with highlighted parts info you need.

Please rate this suggestion fix-it if you are statisfied with these results.

Dryer stopped working

plumber, pop the top on the dryer by pushing on the two clips just under the top on each side. In the back you will see the heater. You want to check the high limit thermostat (this one sits on the top side of the heater) and the thermal fuse (sits on the side about 4 inches down. Unplug the dryer and check them with a meter. If either shows open (no continuity) replace them. Make sure your venting is not clogged up and the heater is not grounded or fractured. Part number for the high limit is 53-0771 and for the thermal fuse is LA-1053. Check these first...Catriver...post back. Unable to find your exact model, but I do have cye4000ayw. parts should be the same.

Electric dryer internal short

Make sure that the dryer is disconnected from the wall outlet before doing any repairs on it. Electric dryer work on 240 volts AC and this could hurt or even kill you. loose connection on the terminal block will cause the wires to get hot. and melt the terminal block and wires and the pig tail wires. you will have to replace the terminal block and pig tail wires and make sure you use the correct bolts and make sure you tighen them. let me know if this helps.krazytech
