Magic Chef CYE4000AWW Electric Dryer - Page 9 Questions & Answers
Magic Chef electric Dryer won't start
Do you have power going to the receptacle. You can first go to your house panel and look for the circuit breaker for the dryer (usually a 30 amp 2-pole brkr.). It could be tripped. So first, put your dryer in the off position. Next, go back to your circuit breaker in your house panel. Turn off the breaker, and then turn it back on. This should reset the circuit breaker for the dryer. Then go back and try turning on your dryer. If this doesn't work, feel free to contact me again. However, this would seem to be it. Good Luck to you!
I've purchased a 4 wire dryer cord for my Magic
Hi,
The green wire is simply the "ground" or "earth" wire, it has to be connected to the chassis/cabinet of your dryer. If there is no place to connect the wire which already exists you'll need to find a nut & bolt that will allow you to fasten it to the dryer.
Hope that answer's your question. Thanks for coming to fixya.

If you're only getting low heat this implies one of the following:
- loose/corroded/damaged connector, or
- bad thermal limit switch/tstat
you will have to check out this possibilities by testing it from meter and continuity tester.
Probably element only working on low heat. check filter and outlet .
No heat or low heat is the third problem and probably the most common problem with dryers. The places to check for this problem on an electric dryer are: Power supply-Heater element-thermal fuse-heat select switch-timer contacts for heat circuit-high limit and control thermostats, and the motor run safety switch. These tests can be made with an ohm meter with the dryer unplugged. Or they can be made with a volt meter live.
You can get

This will help. Thanks please keep
updated.please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya
Why does the dryer not work?
either the safety over heat stat button has been triggered and needs resetting(red button at back or near elements or if dryer has a belt switch the belt may be broken hope this helps
Sometimes the top load clothes washer will not
over loading too often, belt slipping from ware needs replaced. could have kinked drain hose or debri in pump could make it take too long to drain and stops before it has a chance to spin
Dryer stopped working - cye4000AYW
The answer is likely yes. Look on the back of the dryer, for an open hole that seems to serve no purpose. using a flashlight, peer inside this hole, and any others like it, and look for some sort of button.
Also make sure power is disconnected before doing any of this.

Not Drying, getting heat both it takes about 3
Since Its heating, you should check the outlet hose and vent for obstructions. If that is clear check to see if air is blowing out of the dryer at the hose connection. If no air is blowing out, the fan blades on the dryer may be broken or just clogged up. You may have to remove the back cover and
disassemble the lint trap and duct-work inside the dryer to clean
thoroughly. You can
go to this site
www.appliancepartspros.com type in your model number and they will have
schematic diagrams to help aid in doing this.

Hello. It sounds like the belt is a wee bit too big, or the idler arm is a bit worn out. I recommend that you use it as is for a few days and if after that it is still problematic check out the idler arm with consideration of replacing it. by the way, did you use a magic chef replacement belt or a generic one? Regards, joe
Gas Dryer Stops after 30 minutes.
Your problem is caused by a motor overheating causing its internal overload to shut it down until the motor cools. If you truly have thoroughly cleaned all interior areas of your dryer and the vent leading from the house to the outside there are only two possible problems that can give you this failure.
- The dryer motor bearing is failing (tightening) causing the motor to be harder to turn. This will force the motor to draw more current to keep it running and this generates more heat than usual. The additional heat opens the thermal safety on the motor until it cools down. Motor needs to be replaced
- The air holes at each end of the motor are clogged with lint that needs to be cleared out. The body of the motor may also be coated with lint. Both these conditions will cause the thermal overload in the motor to open until it cools. Motor needs to be fully vacuumed.
Good Luck.
I've got a Magic Chef dryer that will not start.
The door switch must be checked for continuity. The thermal overload fuse near the heating element must be checked for continuity. If either has no continuity it is a bad part and must be replaced.
