Driver Canon mf5550

http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/imageclass_series/imageclass_mf5550 This is all they got. If they don't have the driver for windows 7, you will be stuck with the possibility of trying my suggestion for installing. On Windows 7, go to Control Panel then Click on Programs. Below Program & Features, you will see "RUN PROGRAMS MADE FOR A PREVIOUS VERSION OF WINDOWS" A new window will open up called PROGRAM COMPATIBILITY. Follow the instructions, and add a driver for the previous version. If it works, then you are all set. If it does not, then you are better off getting another printer. Eventually, I had to sadly get rid of this printer. It was a great and wonderful printer, and I was sad to see it go because of driver compatibility issues since I got another brand new computer that does not work with it. IMPORTANT NOTE: 64bit versions are even harder to make it work with this printer. Hope it helps! Good luck.

Can I use my Cannon MF5550 with Apple MacBook

don't know. I have never tried it with a MAC. But if you can find Mac compatible drivers somewhere online or through Canon, then you can try lots of things. If you can not, then you are stuck.

Canon MF5550 printer driver for Windows Vista

I just found this solution TODAY! After trying for a whole year to fix this thing... It was right at my face the whole time!!!!

1) Uninstall your old Canon MF5550 driver.
2) Reboot your computer
3) Download the Canon MF5550 driver Windows XP version.
4) Open your Vista Control Panel, then click on PROGRAMS (not on Uninstall or something else...)
5) bellow "Programs & Features", click on "use an older program with this version of Windows". Follow the wizard.
6) Locate the program manually. (If you need to search the folder where you downloaded your Canon driver, just go to search file on C. It will probably download on your desktop or Downloads)
7) Open the MF5550 Folder where you downloaded the driver, and click on the setup.exe file.
8) Choose on the next screen Windows XP
9) If you need to change the display settings, go ahead. But I didn't change anything. I just clicked NEXT.
10) Fill in the box: RUN THIS PROGRAM AS AN ADMINISTRATOR and click NEXT.
11) Click Next again and let Windows Vista do its job.
12) If it worked... just click yes and finish. If it didn't, click NO and run it again.

I AM SO HAPPY THIS THING WORKED!!!

Let me know if this worked for you!!!! I know I've looked everywhere for this solution...

email me at [email protected]

GOOD LUCK! GOD BLESS!

Cannot install drivers for Canon

Incompatible types and version of printer drivers when installed in Windows 7 can cause issues which might hinder the installation process thereby causing the installed drivers to become corrupt. The users of Windows 7 are therefore advised to verify the version and type of printer drivers before the installation and install only those drivers that are fully compatible with the Windows OS on the system to avoid these kinds of issues.

I just changed my laser

Hi,
does these lines occures when you print something out or just when you copy something?

If it occures when you print out also check the new toner crg. drum ( green roller ) and if the lines are on its surface change the crg. because that means that the cleaning blade is faulty.

If there isnt lines on drum, and printed image is OK, clean the copy glass ( both platten and adf glass ).

Worst case scenarion is faulty fixing film.

Hope that helped!

I have a canon MF5550 printer that I am trying to

Canon isn't supporting this printer for Vista. You can try using the driver for XP. Available here: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/imageclass_series/imageclass_mf5550?selectedName=DriversAndSoftware#DriversAndSoftware
You may need to use the Compatibility Mode on the installer as well as the driver. (Right click on the .exe and select Properties. Then go to the Compatibility Tab and check the box for the Run this program in Compatibility Mode and choose XP in the adjacent drop down.) Then right click again on the .exe and choose Run as Administrator to make sure the UAC allows the installer to work.

I hope this helps.

(a generic printer driver may install when you plug in the printer without installing the software first. If this happened you should uninstall that driver before trying the Canon version. If the Canon driver doesn't work, the generic printer driver in Vista will probably let you print but you may lose the scanner features. Please note that the buttons may or may not work to launch the software on the computer. Try opening the software and initiating scans from the computer.)
