HEWLETT-PACKARD CP1525NW Laser Printer - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Even when printing in monochrome color ink goes down
Depending on what you print, these printers will print black by combining all three colors, they also use some color every time the printer calibrates. If you print mostly black and white you are better off getting a monochrome only printer.
Cp1525nw appears offline
If the system is unable to detect the printer, it will put the printer in offline mode. In this condition you won't get any print outs..

Red light next to green light is on(not flashing), 79 error (does not work)
79 errors are usually firmware related on newer HP models. Disconnect any USB or Network cables and power cycle the printer. If it will come to read, connect a USB cable from the printer to a computer with internet connection. Then you want to go to
www.hp.com and search for the current firmware for your model which will be a program you download and run and it will automatically update your printer. Also ensure that if you are connected to a network that you clear all print jobs from any computers that might print to this printer.
Toner cassette tray jammed
You'll need to remove the covers and find the release actuator slightly below and behind display/control panel. The actuator can then be taped so that the drawer will no longer get stuck, but when you replace a cartridge you will have to manually calibrate. Good luck!
I get toner residue on my paper
Most HP laser cartidges are an 'all-in-one' so the problem is likley to be the toner cartridge itself, either the 'wiper blade' or roller seal inside the cartridge has worn / failed.
Remanufactured and compatible cartridges are more likely to have this problem. If its a HP cartridge it will be covered under warranty.
Before you install your new cartridge make sure you remove all the toner cartridges and throughly clean the inside of your printer with a slightly damp lint free cloth & cotton bud.
Repeating print
it's the footer on the page which is printed, deleting the footer on the editing page will solve the problem.
Fusing paper jam
check if any papers are inside the printer or ot... removed all the papers from the input tray and if any papers are stuck then remove it as well..
then unplug the power chord from the back of the printer while the printer is on .. wait for 30 sec and then replug it back .. check if it works..
if it does not then continue with the steps below:Press OK to open the menus on the front panel of the printer >>
Use the Left arrow or the Right arrow button to select the Service menu, and then press the OK (Select) button>> Use the left arrow or the right arrow button to select Restore defaults, and then press the OK button. The product automatically restarts...
if this steps does not help then continue with the following steps Turn the product off >>
Simultaneously press the right arrow button and the Cancel button. Keep these buttons depressed as you turn the product on >> When the Permanent storage init. message appears on the display, release both buttons >> When the product has finished the NVRAM initialization, it returns to the Ready state... hope this works...
Remove shipping lock
Assuming the shipping lock of all toners has been removed, your printer will typically give this error when a toner is not installed correctly or it is having trouble reading it. I would recommend removing the toner in question, resetting the printer and re-installing it firmly. If the problem remains there is likely to be a genuine faulty with the toner. In which case, contact your retailer to obtain a replacement.
Hp laserjet 5100n
Go to the hp.com site and search for said driver. Sometimes they do not update their drivers for older machines, but I am not familiar with this one. Good luck. Once a year Staples will have a special where one can trade in an old machine for a discount on a new HP.
