Check the rollers and open and close the door. If everything looks okay, the sensor is not sensing there is paper causing the error.

Sometimes you can actually reach in and manually pull it to the center. I have done that multiple times.

I would suggest that you uninstall the software and start over. First install the software with the printer OFF. Then turn the printer on and follow the prompts. Good luck! Ross K

you can try to reinstall the software, or go into control panel and make sure the printer is set as default printer. the computer should reconize the printer if you unplug the usb cable and wait abou 10 seconds then replug the usb. but i would try to reinstall the software first,

Do you have a scanner on it? Is it configured?

When you power up the printer it should go thru POST and your scanner should go thru the motions. You can lift the ADF lid and see if the light goes on while it goes thru POST. Also try resetting the printer to factory default.

Try updating the firmware.

Hello PL53, Please try making a photocopy of a document and let me know if the time taken to make a copy is equal to that of printing from pc.

Reset the product:

1. Unplug the power cord from the HP All-in-One.
2. Wait for 20 seconds.
3. Press and hold # and 6 while plugging in the power cord to the HP All-in-One.
4. Release the buttons after the HP All-in-One starts up.
5. The HP All-in-One will now be reset to factory defaults.

If it does not resolve then service the product

the Officejet 4500 doesn't have a memory-card slots or PictBridge port, so you won't be able to print directly from the camera or from the memory card.what you can do, is download the pictures to your computer and print from there.
