Probably the battery on your player is not charged sufficiently to allow the player to turn on on battery power only.

I had a sandisk that had settings in its menu for two different USB modes. Try the option that corresponds to Mass Storage Mode, this allows the device to be recognized like a USB drive. You can then navigate to the music folder to copy mp3 files from your computer.

Depends on device and software. In general you can make playlists where you can select the sort order. Playlists are very flexible, at least on my iPhone and in iTunes. Another idea would be to copy all the song you want to sync into a new folder, then edit the detailed info for each song to set the track number for each song to be in the order you want. Possibly you can create a compilation out the songs but again, I think the compilation would need the songs track number to be in your prefered order.

It would probably be more expensive to repair the unit you have than it would be to just replace it. If you have never worked on an electronic music system you'll find it's not the place to start. That is if you want it to work when you're done.

The best and easiest way to put music to this player is via USB , simply connect the the device to your computer via USB and do the transfer of songs.

Check whether the disc spins inside the set, after it has been loaded properly. If not; replace the sled motor. If yes; check and replace its laser pickup unit. It is faulty. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
