These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. first, I would not buy a "kit"; prices on these range from 40 to 80 dollars and most of the parts are not going to be needed.

You can look at the two chips in your set: either they are STK-392-110 OR -150--BOTH ARE THE SAME BUT THE 150 LASTS LONGER.

A FEW VERSIONS WILL USE STK-392-120---IT IS NOT INTERCHANGEABLE WITH THE 110 OR 150 CHIP.

In either case you can buy on EBAY (A seller I use) a pair of the chips for about 12 dollars.

About the only other thing that goes bad is there may be damaged resistors around one of the chips--usually just one but they are easy to spot and or test (see photos)

No matter how you add it up you can buy the parts you need for under 25 dollars including shipping.

Google this----the burnt one will look bigger----most are actually 1/2 watt and none that burn are over 1 watt. If 46 one of the two chips for convergence got it.
