John Deere 22HP VTwin 48" Riding Mower - Page 5 Questions & Answers
Have a john deere sabre
Some mowers have a mowing reverse safety switch. That safety will kill the mower if you try to reverse with the deck engaged. Some mowers even have an override button that has to be held while backing up. As for the battery thing, no matter how much you charge a bad battery you will not get it to start a mower if it has a bad cell or two. I would use a multimeter to check battery voltage, but the end result would still be the same, replace the battery.
I hope this gets you going again.
I have a John Deere LX280 that won't start.
The fuel solenoid is 12 VDC. You can power it directly with 12V from the battery with the connector disconnected. It is powered from terminal A1 of the Key Switch with the switch ON. Before powering it up do a resistance check of the coil on the solenoid. It should read 40 Ohms or less.
The seat switch only provides a ground for the ignition. If the starter solenoid is engaging you should also have power to the fuel solenoid. Check for 12VDC on the engine harness for the solenoid with the Key ON. If you have 12VDC the solenoid is bad.
I am answering this post now as it appeared AFTER I had replied to another post. I note your post is 7 days old. Had I seen it 7 days ago I would have answered at that time. Sorry for the belated response.

Need to reset my oil service light on my john
Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly.
The light (blinking notification on digital read out) will come on 1/2 hour before and remain on for 1/2 hour after the interval. If you pass your model number I can paste the notification data. It is NOT re-setable.
How Does Your Hour Meter Function? Model Year
Model Number and Product Identification Number Groups. Is the tractor equipped with an hour meter? Does it accumulate hours with the key switch left "ON", but not running? How long does the service reminder (SVC) display before and after service intervals? Does the Hour meter stay lit or display hours when the key is in the" OFF" position? Does the hour meter only count hours when the engine is running?

^- This was a chart... It did not pst well at all. The key is that the interval underlined above is 1/2 hour before and after the service due period and it is NOT resetable.
Thanks for choosing FixYa,

Does it have a fuel
I am guessing that you have a fuel tank under the seat. If so, there is no drain. It has to be sucked out somehow. I had to do this for a neighbor recently on his JD, and I used a turkey baster to **** it out and put the fuel in a bucket. It works, just never be able to use the baster again for cooking, but they are cheap to buy anyway. When you get all the fuel out look down and make sure that it is clean of stain, varnish, or debris. You may need to rinse with fuel to get it out, shooting and sucking with the baster. This system works, I know for a fact.
Now you need to purge the fuel line of bad fuel. You do this by finding the fuel pump on the engine. It is the round, black thing on the side towards the back but not on the back. It has three hoses, fuel to the pump, fuel from the pump and a line that uses changing pressure in the crankcase to operate the pump. Find the line between the fuel pump and the carb. This line will most likely have a fuel filter in it also. Remove the line at the fuel filter and redirect to a bucket and turn the motor over with the key to operate the pump and flush the bad fuel from the line. Before putting the line back on a fresh fuel in tank, replace the fuel filter and drain the fuel from the carb and clean the bowl of the carb. If you are lucky, you may get away without a carb teardown for cleaning.
I hope this helps, if any more questions about this, just reply and I will get back to you.

The tire is flat. How do you remove the wheel
Remove the little rubber center cap. Often these can be difficult, so pinching it with a pair of pliers and pulling will be necessary to remove. Next step is to remove the E-clip. A straight blade screw driver is helpful here to pry it off. Slide off wheel. If it is the rear wheel watch out for the key. The key is a little piece of metal that is about an inch long and has a square cross section.
L130 mower shuts down when
you can bypass the seat switch and see if the switch itself is bad, I do not know on a JD but on a Cub Cadet the RMC controls the safety switches, which is a small black box with a connect plugged into it. Hope this helped Tim
Speed of tractor slows when
you need to call a dealer and get a price to replace the transmission. perhaps you can swap yours for a rebuilt tranny. If you are at all mechanical, you can change the transmission yourself in an afternoon, so some cost could be saved on labor.
I have a 320 -48
pull the plugs out and see if the gas in the carb is getting to the combustion chamber. there are many products around, Stabil comes to mind, that you dump into the gas tank of a machine which is going to set idle for a long period. These products prevent the gas from turning into a shellac and plugging up the ports and jets in the carburetor. i would look in that direction first.
When I go to engage the blades on my John Deere
How excatly does it shut down? does it slowly bog down or immediatly shut down? Does the belts squeel when you engage them? Things to check are the reverse, and seat safety switches if it shuts down immediatly or a pinched or twisted belt along with pulleys that may be bound up and frozen.
