Garry, you're gonna need a new harness buddy. And with that being a 2860, sorry to say it's obsolete and chances of finding a new harness is somewhat unlikely. Time for a much needed upgrade, it's an analog run away.

Hard to say on that old thing. To be honest the 2860 is worn out, ancient technology. I advise you to upgrade ASAP. It's obsolete, most parts are unavailable and most technicians nowadays have never seen one. They were great machines, tanks to be honest, but emphasis on WERE. Time to let go.

There could be a few reasons for this problem.
The first being the 6th mirror is dirty. To get to this mirror the cleaner unit will have to be removed from the machine.
Then the black cover with the **** glass will also have to be removed.(Toner shield)
Once the black cover is removed the 6th mirror will be exposed. (the black cover is held in place with clips and not screws, no tools are required to remove the black cover.)
Very carefully wipe the exposed mirror with a soft cloth, and clean the glass on the black cover, refit the black cover and cleaner unit.
Test the machine, if the problem is not sorted out then we will have to look a little deeper.
It could also be that the roll guides in the developer unit are worn and need to be replaced.(roll guides keep the developer unit a certain distance away from the drum and are located on the ends of the magnetic roller.)
The machine could also not be standing level.(the developer material culd be all on one side in the developer unit)
The drum could be worn and needs to be replaced.
The carona wires could be contaminated, and also need to be replaced.
The replacement of the roll guides, developer material, drum and carona wires should be carried out by a qualified technician. (that is only my reccomendation)

I hope that it is only the 6th mirror that is dirty.

Hi is the exposure lamp coming on when you copy also check the main charge unit on the drum unit assembly

check the transfer charger if the corona wire is connected if it is been cut replace a new corona wire

In any doc feeder, the initial two feed rollers and one paper separator pad/roller handle most of the paper transportation. So usually if you have misfeeds, and the paper is not crumpling up, you have a problem with worn or dirty feed rollers. However, if the paper is getting crumpled up, you most likely have a physical obstruction blocking the paper path. My recommendation for when this happens is to take a thick piece of card stock and manually feed it through the paper path on the doc feeder, this usually acts to unclog any jammed paper bits or debris.

GENERALLY THERE IS A PIN ON THE FRONT DOOR THAT BREAKS AND WILL NOT TRIGGER THE SWITCH TELLING THE COPIER THAT THE DOOR IS CLOSED. yOU WILL HAVE TO LOOK VERY CAREFULLY AT THE MACHINE WITH THE DOOR OPEN AND LOOK FOR AN OPENING THAT WOULD ALLOW AN ACTUATOR OR PIN TO GO IN ( USUALLY LOOKS LIKE A SLOT). TAKE AND PUSH INWARD WITH A NAIL FILE OR SOMETHING OF THE SORT WITH THE MACHINE ON AND IF THIS IS THE PROBLEM, THE MACHINE WILL POWER UP. SUPERGLUE SOMETHNG IN PLACE TO SUBSTITUTE FOR THE PIN ON THE DOOR. GOD BLESS, HOPE THIS HELPS.
