Switch to turn vacuum on/off currently not

The vacuum will need to be taken to the nearest Aerus Electrolux store for replacement. A rep can also pick it up and return it. If this is done, an estimate will be given to you over the phone. If the rep tries a demo spiel, FIRMLY tell him/her no.

I HAVE A MODEL C104A

There's a very good chance that it's overheating.? Have you made sure that ALL of the filters are clean.? If you've ever vacuumed-up anything damp or wet, it will then begin to attract dust to the damp parts & then dry the dust out, forming a skin. A good clean of the filters & pipes (especially at joints & bends might fix it. As Aerus Guy says, go to the manufacturers website & see if they have a troubleshooting/fault finding guide to help you.? Best of luck.

How to get to wiring plug

If you're talking about the cord that you pull out from the reel located at the rear of the machine, you'll have to take the top cover off first. Usually two philips head screws located under rear exhaust cover and one maybe two near the front end. Once that is removed, there will be two more philips screws, one on each side of the top rear of the machine and one on the bottom. Remove all three of them, pull about a foot of cord off of the reel and get it to catch, the using the heel of your right hand, hit the very back of the machine, (the rubber bumper part) on the top with a motion pulling toward the back. This may take a couple of tries if you're not used to removing this part, but one or two swipes should eventually loosen the rear cover. Once it is loosened you may carefully pull it out of the back end of the machine and take off the two wire connections. This will free up the cordwinder assy. so you can take it to a spot where you have some room to work. Now lay the assembly on it's back and take the four screws, one from each corner of the rear cover, out and lay them aside. Thread the cord plug through the opening and wind the free cord back onto the reel, allowing the spring to pull it slowly out of your hand and then wrap the plug end around and around the reel till the spring is unwound, then you can remove the "C" clip from the center post, sometimes hidden under a cardboard washer. With the clip removed you can gently pull the cord reel up and off the post, carefully bringing the rewind spring up and off it's post as well. If you've tested the cord and are sure that it's your problem then you can cut the remainder of the cord from the reel and throw it away. The reel is easier to deal with without the cord on it. Turn the reel over so the back cover is exposed, there should be three screws that can be removed so you can take the connections loose from the posts inside and make ready for the new cord. Once you've attached the new cord and tied your strain relief knot, like the one you removed, you're ready to wrap the cord onto the reel and just reverse the procedure. When you get ready to put the loaded reel back into the cordwinder body, just before you put the cover on, wrap the plug end around the reel three times. This loads the spring so that it will pull the cord completely back into the unit. And it doesn't hurt to drop a spot of oil onto the top of the post for the spring.

Trying to dismantle vacuum

If your wire is broken somewhere along the wire itself you'll need a pair of wire cutters a pair of wire strippers some black electrical tape. first the plug has to be unplugged I know your not stupid but trust me when your trying to fix something like that its not that hard to forget if you've been plugging and unplugging something over and over again. Anyway use the wire cutters and cut out the part of the wire that is broken or worn. Now cut back on both ends of the wire the out side isolation so you can work with the three wires separately with ease about two inches on each end. Now take the wire strippers and strip each wire on both ends until there all stripped only about a fourth of an inch. You have noticed that the wires are different colors so you won't have any problem matching the wires back together . One at a time you will connect the colors back to themselves the white to the white black to black . for instance your going to take both ends of the white wire and hold them next to each other as if you were measuring them and take your fingers or the tip of the strippers and twist the wires together . then where there twisted together bend the bear part of the wire against one side so the wire is horizontal again now take the electric tape and wrap it around the wire start and end before and after the bear part of the wire so all you see is color insulation and tape no bear wire. do the same thing to each wire most important thing to remember it that the bear part of all those wires can not be exposed and touch anything including the wire that's next to them . Now just take the tape and start just like you've been doing except this time your going to wrap all the wires with the tape and your done.

Does not turn on epic 6000

First, turn dial on top of vacuum counter-clockwise so the smallest dot lines up with the arrow. See if it stays on. If not, detach hose and turn vacuum on. Place palm of hand over intake. If it turns off, it's possible that the tubes connecting to the CVA are clogged and simply need cleaned. This is most often caused by using "made to fit" Electrolux bags. Dust is sucked through the bags and into the motor compartment of the machine. All interior parts get covered in dust and need to be cleaned. If this is the cause, the vacuum is best cleaned and repaired at an authorized Aerus Electrolux store. If the vacuum shuts off, or won't turn on before placing hand over the intake, it's probable the control valve assembly is bad and needs replaced.

Another cause is an overheated motor due to clogged screen at back of bag well, full or clogged bag, dirty afterfilter, bad wiring/connections, clogged hose, clogged power head, or bad motor. It depends largely on the type and model of cleaner. Clogged wands are also a possibility, but unlikely.

Check and clean screen at back of bag well.

Replace bag. Make sure it's a genuine Electrolux bag made by Home Solutions.

Check and replace afterfilter if necessary. These should be replaced after every six bags.

Broken and worn wiring connections are often found in the hose ends due to abuse and normal wear and tear. You can check the continuity of the hose using a continuity tester or multi-tester. If a multi-tester, turn dial to one of the Ohm settings. Place one probe into one of the terminals on the end of the hose. This will be referred to as T1. Touch the other probe to each of the terminals/connections on the other end of the hose. These will be T3 and T4. One of them should read zero, the other should read infinity. Repeat this with the other terminal, which will be T2.

Drop a marble in one end of hose and let it roll through. If it doesn't roll through, the hose is clogged and needs to be cleared. Plug hose into the exhaust port of the vacuum, place other end in the in port. Turn vacuum on. This provides a blowing and sucking action which should clear the hose.
Detach hose from power nozzle (PN). Drop a marble into the wand end of PN. If it rolls through, it's clear. If not, there's probably a clog behind the brush where the intake opening is. You may be able to reach this through wand end with needle nose pliers, or either end with a knitting/crochet needle or a bent coat hanger.

If none of these "fixes" provide the answer to the problem, it should be taken to the nearest Aerus Electrolux store for diagnosis. Repairs or checks involving disassembly of the vacuum should always be done by an authorized Aerus Electrolux service technician.

The store nearest you can be found by following the instructions at the below listed link:

The machine keeps shutting off with a full bag

The most probable problem is a clog in the hose.
First detach the hose from the vacuum and turn it on. If it runs without the hose, you're on the right track. Detach the hose from the wands and drop a coin in one end. Lift the end so the coin should drop through. If it doesn't, there's definitely a clog. Plug the hose into the exhaust port, place other end into front of vacuum, and turn it on. This usually clears it.
Also check the elbow at the power nozzle. Clogs here are usually visible, but you can hold the PN up to the light to check for a blockage.
If none of these take care of the problem, the entire vacuum needs to be taken to an authorized Aerus Electrolux shop for diagnosis and repair.

The vacum will run until the hose is inserted and

Before trying to take it apart, check the hose for a blockage. Disconnect the hose at both ends, drop a coin in one end, lift that end of hose allowing coin to drop through. If it doesn't come through, there's a clog. You should be able to clear it by plugging the hose into the exhaust port of the vacuum, holding the other end to the in port, and turning on.
Another possible problem is a dirty afterfilter. Remove the air diffuser/tool holder on the back of the vacuum. If the filter is dirty, it blocks the air flow and the vacuum will shut off due to overheating. Remove it, connect the hose, and turn on the vacuum.
If you don't have a manual, you can download it at the below site. Click on the space under "older models", click on Ambassador III, and download.
Information for removing the air diffuser is on page 9.

It does not have the suction to pick up like it

Check hose, wands, power nozzle for blockages.
There is a screen located at the bottom of the bag well. Make sure this is clear of debris.
There is a possibility the motor is wearing out and needs replaced.

How do you replace the belt in an Electrolux model

I guess you are talking about the belt in the Power Nozzle, right?
(for the vacuum cleaner itself, has not belts in it...)

So-- if we are talking about the power nozzle:
Lay the floor part of this nozzle on a bench or table (with newspapers underneath!!)

Usually there are 2 or 4 large head screws on that smooth metal floor plate--
Remove them, and this cover plate usually pivots forward, exposing the brush, the drive motor and the belt-
Notice the height adjusting settings, for how far the brush goes into the carpet-- and determine if you want to use that same setting,-- or if the brush is worn, you may want to adjust the brush 'out' more, so that the bristles get into the carpet more?

Can you remove the brush?-- removing the end farthest from the belt, first?
This allows the old belt to come off, Now slip the new one on-- notice the notches-- make sure the spacing of the notches in the belt matches the notches in the pulleys.--
Now can you insert the brush back in the bearing slots-- Belt end first?-- Dercide whether to use the same depth, or a deeper brush depth, and nestle everything back in to the retainers. Does the brush turn easily? -- a few drops of oil on the bearings won't hurt.. Be sure to clean all the strings and threads and hair that gets wound around the brush, while you have it all in the open.

You can test the installation when you are safely away from the moving parts-- does it turn freely now?
Replace the cover plate, and tighten the screws-- remembering that they just need to be snug.

Let us know how this turns out-- and if we can help more.
