Electrolux Lux 7000 Bagged Canister Vacuum Questions & Answers
How do i get in to the back of my vacuum 7000 to
The back won't come off until the top and bottom of the case are separated. This is a job that should only be done by an authorized Aerus Electrolux service tech. You may be try to save money by doing it yourself, but it's not worth the potential problems that could lead to. Improper reassembly can and often does result in more being spent in the long run.
Since disassembly of Aerus and pre-Aerus Electrolux vacuums is proprietary information, it shouldn't be posted on the web.
I know this isn't helpful, but it's the best I can do.
My vacuum was just working - I turned it off - now
Most likely the problem on these will be in the cord winder or in the actual switch. When I used to work for Electrolux this is what I remember seeing the most with the 7000. The best service you'll get on these are at an actual Aerus Electrolux dealer. http://www.aerushome.com/storelocator/
I can't recoil the electrical cord. What do I need
Open the bag door, remove the bag (leave door open)and then with a hammer and a blunt instrument(wooden dowel) Strike the side rubber "bumper" rails towards the open door side of the machine from the back of the vacuum. You should get it started and then it should easily pull out from both sides. you can remove the bottom of the vacuum and remove the cord "guard" to allow the cord to go thru also. The back is held on by the union of these two halves by dowel pins(plastic nubs) Sometimes the "spring" mechanism gets jammed from over pulling. Just simply roll the smaller wheel to retract the cord manually. You could try spraying the rollers with a silicone or graphite type spray to allow free movement of the spring. Hopes this helps. We have an electrolux ultraone and today when we
just fixed one at work today for a bloke I work with it had the flashing AUTO light & turns off after a couple of seconds. Keep in mind I've never fixed a vacuum cleaner before but i am an electronics technician so it wasn't too hard. I'll list how I did it best I can from memory. What caused his to do this was where the hose connects to the unit there is 3 wires you can see this from the three prongs where it connects. Take off the hatch on the hose with a size 8 Torx driver. once Off you will see three loops of metal and the part that separates will have three contacts with wires leading to the prongs. What happened to his was the middle loop came off and the wire under it had broken free and I suspect shorted to another contact. I soldered the wire back to the ring and shaped it back together holding it with solder. Take the cleaner apart I think you need a 20 or 25 Torx driver to do this. Its tricky and can't remember exactly how to do it without the unit in front of me.What your looking for is a circuit board on the side of the unit. theres two of them you want the bottom one the top one is for power regulation. theres also the one at the top with the LEDs etc don't worry about that. On this board inspect the FUSE its a 250V 3.1A and its soldered in, I replaced it with a 3A since it was all I had. Test it and remember to attach the nozzle back before powering it on. From what I can tell those three metal loops are antennas for the controls on the handle. The one I fixed was a Z88701p I think Australian model.

With all that's involved in replacing the cord and potential cord reel damage, it's more cost effective to just have the entire cord reel, complete with new cord, replaced. Less time consuming thus less costly to you. Hope it helps!
What does the key light stand for on lux7000 canister vaccuum?
The light on the top of the 7000 that represents a "key" as you state it, is actually a "No Bag" light. That means to check the bag compartment for a bag. Replace if you do not see one. Close the door, push the start button, and voila....it will start. If it doesn't , make sure the bag top (cardboard) is flush inside. It may be missing the bag switch. Hope that helps!
