How to adjust contrast settings on a BlackBerry Tour
Whether you are colorblind, curious, or just into weird color schemes, you can change the contrast on your BlackBerry Tour from the normal colors it displays to either grayscale or inverted colors. Here's how:
1. From the main screen, press the BlackBerry button (the one with seven dots) to get to your Home folder.
2. Scroll down until you see the Options folder (the one with the wrench icon) and click on it.
3. Select Advanced Options from the list.
4. Select Accessibility.
5. Go down to the second option, Color Contrast, and use either the ALT key or the space bar to select a new contrast setting. As you select one, the screen will change immediately, so you can preview each one before making a change.
6. When you've settled on a scheme you like, save the change before exiting; press either the BlackBerry button or the Back button and then choose Save.
The contrast setting you choose will affect just about everything you see on your BlackBerry, including Internet content, pre-loaded games, and even third-party applications. When using the Tour's camera or video camera functions, everything will be displayed in normal color, but any pictures taken will immediately appear altered, depending on your contrast setting. Videos are an exception to this rule; if you watch a video on your Tour with either of the alternate contrast settings, the video will still appear in normal color. (Though if you pause the video, the image it pauses on will adhere to your current contrast setting.)

BlackBerry Tour: How to find your IP address
Like most devices that connect to a network or to the Internet, your BlackBerry Tour has its own IP address. If you need to find your IP address (or if you're just curious) follow the steps below. (The process may vary for other BlackBerry models, but it should be similar.)
A. From the main screen, press the BlackBerry button (the one with seven dots) to go to your Home folder.
B. Find the Options folder (with the wrench icon) and select it.
C. In the list of options, scroll down to Mobile Network and click the trackball.
D. Press the BlackBerry button.
E. Click on Tools on the menu.
F. Click on Ping.
When the Ping test utility opens, you'll see your IP address displayed at the top of the screen, labeled "Device IP." You don't have to use the Ping utility; you can click the back arrow to exit out after noting your IP address.
Alternatively, you can run the Diagnostics Test, which will also display your IP address. To run the Diagnostics Test, follow the steps above, but after step D, substitute the following procedure:
E. Select Diagnostics Test from the menu.
F. Press the BlackBerry button.
G. Select Run.
The Diagnostics Test can take a few minutes to complete, and it will display various settings for your BlackBerry, including the IP address (Device IP). The report generated by the Diagnostics Test will be saved so you can view it later for reference or use it to compare current settings.
My blackberry has water damage
Do not turn on the phone again before taking out all trapped moisture. the phone and battery should be completely dried out. Take out the battery, sim card, etc. You will need to wrap each piece in newspaper, the phone and battery and then put in a rice container and wait at least 24 hrs. The newspaper and rice will eventually absorb the moisture.
I hope this helps!

To restore reset the phone . how,
How to Reset a Blackberry
There are three main types of Reset that apply to the Blackberry. These are listed in order below. Instructions for Blackberry Pearl are slightly different - see bottom section of the Tip.
1) Soft Reset - simply press the ALT+RIGHT SHIFT(CAP)+DELETE keys.
This reset stops all applications that are running on the Blackberry and will help if you are having problems connecting the device to computer. This reset will not erase any information from your device.
2) Double Soft Reset - this reset is almost equivalent to a full hard reset. First perform a Soft Reset as outlined in Step 1.
As soon as the screen is no longer black - repeat the steps once again exactly as before.
This takes you to another screen showing an hour glass. Allow the device to reset. This helps if the device has suffered a more serious error. Be aware you may loose some information from your device. A backup is advised prior to proceeding if at all possible.
3) Hard Reset - this is the full blown reset and will fully reset the device to help resolve critical errors with software or hardware. Again back up important information before proceeding if possible.
Note: For RIM models 850, 857, 950, or 957, you must insert the end of a paperclip or similar blunt object into a small recessed hole on the back of the unit and depress the switch inside. The device will reboot and be hard reset.
Other Models: With the device turned on - remove the battery for 30 seconds or more. Now replace the battery. The device will reboot and be hard reset.
Blackberry Pearl: To reset to factory defaults enter 'Options' from the main menu. Scroll to Security Options and press the trackball. Choose 'General Settings'.
Press the left soft key, then scroll to "Wipe Handheld" with the trackball and press the trackball. To initiate the factory reset, your phones security code may be required in order for the process to complete. Your phone will now be restored to its original settings on leaving the factory.
A hard reset can be achieved with the Pearl in the same way as outlined at Step 3 by removing the battery.
Be aware that resets such as these may erase data, such as contacts, ring tones, pictures, text messages and stored Internet files and emails. Make sure to back up important information beforehand if at all possible. You can obtain software to back up the device to your computer directly from Blackberry right here.
Hope this Tip helps. If so please do leave a vote for the solution.
Thanks.
I need an IMEI unlock code for a Blackberry Tour.
Not a problem the truth is you can get a free unlock code from what ever carrier the phone is currently locked to.
All you have to do is call them and request the unlock code. just be sure to call them from a separate phone line, cause their are several steps that you will have to do, and you wont be able to complete them all if your in use on the phone.
(It's aginst the law to have a monopoly on a certain product or service, a carrier only allowing certain phones to be used only on their network is considered a monoply, thats why they have to give you the code free of charge)
