Acer AL2223W 22" LCD Monitor Questions & Answers
Acer 2223W monitor stand
There are indeed generic stands which rotate between portrait and landscape orientation. This monitor, like most monitors sold today, has generic "VESA" mounting holes, in the 100mm x 100mm (MIS-D, 100, C) configuration shared with most other flat screen PC monitors, so they can easily be used with a variety of stands that attach to the 4 holes in the center of the back side of the monitor.
Acer 22" AL2223W monitor display goes black after a second
Look at the capacitors in the power supply. Replace them if they look bulged on wither side or leaking. Most likely it is the inverter (the flat object with copper coils about 2 inches long, 1 inch wide). Check the resistance with a multimeter to be sure its around 1000k on both pair ends. They supply the CCFL tubes with voltage. If one onthem is bad they are designed to shut off within 1-2 seconds. Note the inverter numbers and order the part from
www.lcdparts.com. You won't get them anywhere as the parent company MoniServe makes the power supply board for Acer.
My side bar on acer monitor screen has become
If you have a white bar running up the side of the monitor, then it is probably dead. Acer has 3 year warranties on their monitors so you should call them to see if you are still in warranty. If so, they will fix it free!
If more than 3 years old, try it on another pc. If it is the same on another pc, get a new monitor.
Hope this helps!

Myscreen is too bright is it possible to change this?
You use the buttons. You press the middle button, if 3, and a menu will appear, navigate by repeated "presses" on the button, this will advance it through the items, then "Select" with the middle button, & use the buttons either side to go Up & Down, + or - in value, with the middle button as the "Select" or "End".
Screen comes on says Acer then No Signal, and goes
This means the monitor believes it's not connected to the computer. Verify the cables first of all. Then try booting in safe mode (F8 key at PC startup) in order to verify that the PC is sending data to the proper video port (you might have a dual VGA / Digital output, for example, and the monitor might be connected to the wrong PC port). Quite often, a "bad signal" will be the same of "no signal"; and you can have a bad signal if the monitor resolution on the PC is set too high. This could happen if you installed a high-resolution capable monitor, and then replaced it with a not-completely-plug-and-play, lower resolution one. The PC would keep sending hi-res signals to a monitor which can neither interpret them, nor tell the PC "please slow down". To check this last possibility, reboot your computer while the monitor is ON. When PCs reboot, they usually drop back to standard VGA signaling, which all monitors understand. If the monitor abruptly comes to life and displays a boot screen, then goes No Signal again after several seconds, you've got a resolution issue; get in Safe Mode with F8 key at boot, and modify the screen properties (right-mouse button on the desktop, then Properties).
If everything else fails, try also connecting the monitor to another PC or laptop, to see if it works there.
Screen is dimmed for 2-3 secs then it goes black
The fault could be a faulty inverter or a faulty CCFL lamp.
The inverter supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp, if faulty the CCFL lamp can flicker or not light up. The CCFL lamp is a mini fluro lamp, and flicks on and off when faulty especially as it ages.

I suggest you don't.
There are no user friendly replaceable parts in there.
There May be an inline fuse in the AC circuit, but it's probably a circuit breaker. (Closest thing to a user friendly part, that you'll find)
I suggest you take it to a 'Mom & Pop' computer shop, and see if they will check for a blown fuse inside. The small qualified shops like these, have real computer techs, and not 'Geeks are Us'.
Plus they're cheaper.
If it isn't something simple like a blown fuse, or bad circuit breaker, it's probably the power board.
(Usually the front cover comes off, from loosening it on the backside)
The reasoning for dissuading you from opening the monitor, is that there are Electrolytic Capacitors inside.
They are designed to hold a charge for weeks, sometimes months.
Should you touch the terminals making a circuit, or touch the circuit they're in, and complete a circuit, they could release their charge to you!
This can easily result in a bad shock, or 'Put X's in your eyes'.
(The Electrocution warning on the outside is For Real!)
Mpowering technology pop up
Couldn't get rid of mpowereing technology pop up. Tried every solution offered by the internet. Finally I noticed when I powered up my computer the pop up showed up even before the computer loaded anything. I turned off the power to the monitor and powered it back up an viola, pop up gone. The Acer monitor had generated the pop up.
My Acer X1110 switches off as soon as blue light comes on?
it needs service, and service manuals are hard to find on anything by the likes of ACER.
this projector worked for 12 long years, did you own it 12 or bought a bad projector, no history told as I can buy dead projectors all day long. and hard nut problems even hacking done.
Acer X1110 data projector Standard throw projector..
did you know most projectors have serious grade protective devices inside??? (tamper and overheating are 2)
did you read owners manual page 32 yet, errors.
LED codes.?
there are 4 LED, and all 4 matter, projector turned (ON) (not one =1)
also in pairs glowing and also if blinking or not, so read page 32
it tells all that.
my guess is overheat failures, even cold, due fan slow or packed in lint after 12 years of use and no service done,.

some have dust filtler
a shop first cleans is out first, and check fan RPM with and LED tachometer.
this is all SOP.
''e'' button :acer empowering technology
That button can be set using the utility on your programs list
It maybe that you accidentally turned it off or set it to do some other task.
Start there first before re-installing the program that sets it.
That is on one of the cds that should have come with it and can be installed by itself.
