Does the water come out really hot while it is squealing? This is sounding like the water flow is not fast enough and is heating to almost a boiling point. I have experienced this myself with gas heaters. If you open the hot water valve more in your bath or shower does the sound go away?

This happen when there is air in the gas line...if the problem is still there after a couple of days you will have to return the unit for an exchange the gas control is giving problem...contact rheem first before making a exchange decision..they will walk you some step first to ensure there is not a problem

The three most common reasons for this happening to you are 1) a defective gas valve, 2) a rusty thermopile, and/or 3) the automatic shut-off not working as it should. So, the most common reason for many people having this problem stems from having a gas valve that is not working as it should. When your gas control valve is faulty, it will mean that your burner is not going to be igniting as it should-or at all. Something that worked for me one time was to turn the Temp all the way down then all the way to Max a couple of times..gradually. Why it worked I don't know. Got a couple more years out of it though. Hi, From what I'm seeing this means that there is a bad part within your furnace and it needs to be replaced. It might be the thermostat. You might need to reach out to a local HVAC company to diagnose the issue in person. Thank you.

the gas valve can be replaced, but you will have to pay for installation. this is not a DIY. You can throw money and parts at it. Personally I've replaced my water heater at the first sign of problems. Are they inexpensive no If you furnish model number I can look further.

if system is new call whomever installed it and it repaired under warranty. there are several reasons unit is not producing hot water. First thing I would check is temp setting. Again call for service under warranty.
