Hi
If the water inlet
valve is fine and it fills with water then the issue seems to be with the float
switch assembly that is bad and should be replaced. Float assembly is found
inside the dishwasher's tub, on the bottom. The water that fills the dishwasher
lifts the float, and when it reaches a certain level, it acts as a trigger for
the float switch. The float triggers the float switch to shut off, thereby
shutting off the flow of water into the dishwasher. A defective switch may
interfere with dishwasher's filling and/or draining ability. Use voltmeter to
test the switch. Set the device to the ohms setting x 1. Take each probe and
touch them to one switch terminal each. This should produce a reading of either
zero or infinity. Continue to touch the probes to the terminals, and press down
on the switch's button. The reading should change to the opposite extreme. If
the switch fails either of these tests, you should replace it. Hope this helps...please post back for
further assistance.

Hello,
The over consumption of detergent could be caused by a couple of things. If the detergent is dispensed by an external chemical pump, the detergent probe may not be working correctly. The probe will cause the pump to dispense too much chemical if it is dirty or has hard water build up on it. You can check the probe and clean it of any debris. The probe is located in the bottom of the wash tank. Most chemical suppliers take care of these sorts of issues at no cost to the customer. If your rinse solenoid is not closing properly, this could cause the detergent to flow down the standpipe (overflow drain). This would make the chemical pump dispense detergent more often then usual. An easy way to check if your rinse soleniod is stuck open is to look at your rinse arms if water is flowing out of them and doesn't stop this would mean your solenoid is in need of repair.

Assuming that the machine fill cycle works properly and the float is intact, and the heater contactor doesnt pull in:
possible heater contactor malfunction: check for power to coil
High limit snap thermostat may be tripped or damaged ( needs to be manually reset). located in heater connection cover.
Thermistor probe and or wiring to it may be damaged
main control board may not be functioning properly. check output to heater curcuit
