wont rev over 4000 revs my 1988 gpx 600 wont rev passed 6500 then shoots to full revs then back down to 6500 then up on its own any ideas what the prob is It sounds as if you have a dirty set of carbs

bike wont hold its revs do you mean it wont tick over or wont rev up ? could be spark plug etc or the carb needs cleaning
