SOURCE: CRF 450 IS LEAKING OIL TROUGH CARBURETOR

Hi there

You should not have oil leaking from the carby. If you have over filled it with oil, then it may be coming from the crankcase breather and then into the airbox, and appearing to come from the carby. If you have not over filled it, then the bike may have blowby problems with compression gasses passing the rings, and in a similar manner forcing oil out the crankcase breather. Not sure about the hole in the side of the cylinder... do you have a picture? Unless its pouring out, or gets worse, I would not be too worried. If you have over filled the oil, maybe time for an oil change to get the level right.

regards
robotek

SOURCE: CRF 450 Honda leaking oil through carburetor

it sounds like your valve/rocker cover to spark plug tube seal is folded over or something. My reason for saying this is, because the only place for oil to get into the plug tube is a bad seal to the cover or the spark plug isn't tight? and that hole is for expelling liquid so it doesn't cook the plug into the head

SOURCE: How do you remove the front tire from a Honda crf

The axel has a nut on one end and two bolts or one pinching the shaft on the other. Jack the wheel off the grond unscrew the nut loosen the pinch blots pull out the axel and the wheel falls out Watch wher the spacers go as they have to go back turned the right way. the brake rotor has to be lined up with the caliper to put it back in as you don't push the brake with the wheel off as the pads will have tobe pried open to get the rotor back in. Tring to fix a flat? same as a bicycle except use soapy water don't forget to use water to cheak for leaks then put on the powder on the tube before it all goes back good tire irons come from bike dealers and bike parts suppliers. Screw drivers cause more troble than thier worth. Road going bikes chage the tube patches are Illegal DOT

having no experience with that particular model,I would recommend putting it in place and using a straight edge [or 'eyeball'] verify alignment with rear sprocket.

Valve Timing and Head Tension

line the second mark on the flywheel up in the hole on the left cover that is top dead center, that tensioner i believe you have to prewind to bring it back take the bolt out and use a small screw driver and wind it back in and leave it in there untill you put the cam back in and bolt it down. make sure you use caution when removing the bollt from the tensioner it is spring loaded. the cam sprocket has lines or dots they will need to line those up with the gasket surface make sure there is no press on the valves that will be top dead center comp
