'95 Susuki GSX 750- dies on freeway. Was driving my bike on the freeway going 75/80 mph. when i headed up a hill, it started to slowly lose speed eventhough I had the throttle pinned. it slowed down until I got down to about 10/15mph and it died on the side of the road. about 5 min later I was able to get it started by giving it full choke and holding the RPM's at about 3-4,000. I slowly backed off the choke to half choke but if I went past that, she died as if it was flooding out. fuel was low but not out. once I stopped at a fuel station to fill up and after she cooled down a bit, it was smooth sailing all the way home. I've been told vapor lock due to an old fuel line getting soft might be the first place to start. thoughts?

SOURCE: WERE IS THE SPARK PLUG ON MY SUSUKI GSX 750

1. Undo the two screws for the fuel tank (steering side, not seat side)
2. Lift tank, unplug all attachments to airbox.
3. Loosen screws on the left and right of airbox to loosen from the carbs and remove air filter box.
3. You should see four black 'things' with wires attached at the top of the engine - unplug wires and pull the black plugs out.
4. If possible, use compressed air to clean out the holes before attempting spark removal. Sand can sometimes get in there.
4. Insert spark plug socket in the holes to remove and replace.

SOURCE: GSX750FX running problem

needs the carbs cleaned out, and possibly some new spark plugs. If it has been over 4K since the plugs were changed, they need replacing also.

SOURCE: will a carburettor for a susuki 750 GSX fit a 750

You have a 90 percent chance the swap will be okay providing the carbs are not more than a year or two apart.

How do yo tell if clutch is bad, on 2000 750 susuki katana, feels like slipping at max speed on all gears.?

Find a long straight road that climbs fairly steeply get into top gear at about 40 MPH then try to slowly accelerate. If the clutch is slipping you will find that the revs increase but the speed does not. It is not a good idea to rev to the max in each gear it can damage the engine and gearbox. Have you checked the clutch cable and the adjusters also is the clutch release mechanism (push rod I think in your bike) working correctly. A poorly adjusted or damaged, un-lubed cable, with no free play at the lever will not help a clutch to operate properly. I would also have the clutch checked as it could be the friction plates are worn and/or the spring tension is incorrect. (Wrongly adjusted or weak springs will also not help the situation)

How do you tell clutch is bad on 2000 susuki katana

When going about 50 mph, turn throttle fully open. If clutch is slipping, engine will rev but speed will not increase very much.

2007 GSXR 600: So I'm on the freeway going about 80mph and my bikes speedometer goes to (--) and loses all power. I then am able to start it back up and ride it 3miles home but on the way it does the same...

Howdy: I have had the same problem and it turned out to be a short in my kill button. When the bike would sart to vibrate (80mph) the slight shaking triggered a short in the kill button. Disconnect it and try it again at 80 mph. If not it is a open in the main fuse circuit that can kill all power. Also check your battery cable being loose. Good luck - Doug
