1988 Suzuki GSX-R750 Slingshot problems(fuel/air)

Sounds like ignition problems; I know you've had it serviced but check condition of spark plugs. Check all electrical contacts for corrosion, more specifically the timing pickup circuit, wires to coils, CDI connector. You're CDI may be the culprit, try swapping it out for a known good one. If it's back firing then enough fuel is getting through the carbs, so would indicate to me that the problem doesn't lie there. Hope you have some luck.

Does the pilot screw alter the air intake on the

Certainly you best adjust these screws with a vacume gauge set connected and set them all the same as the gauges dictate as the number of turns out is just where you start. The sync needs to be set first with the idel turned up too high when it's right turn the isel back down and check again as the idel is low nows the time to correct differences with the idel mixture screws. As the idel mixture is always on they effect the total mixture at all enf=gine speeds but lesser so at high speeds only noticeable at the gas pump carefully cheaking

On a 1988 suzuki gsxr 750 at what speed should you switch to second gear

Shifting speed is relative - depends on how fast you wish to drive at the given time: if you are driving at a moderate speed, like through the neighborhood, a lower speed is best for the shift, like 20-25 mph; if you are driving more aggressively, like pulling out into traffic on the feeder, etc. then you can accellerate faster by giving it more throttle, & shifting to second at about 30-35 mph. It's mostly about your driving style, everyone's is different, so there's no one solid answer to that question.

I want to fit a rear shock with a resevoir attached will it fit in my 1988 gsxr7 50 50

You most likley can. If there is not enough clearance for a shock mounted resevor, one can be added using a steel braded hose connection and mounted in another area. I have used this method a number of times onsnowmobiles. There are number of companys that offer this service and Ihave had great success with Hygearsuspension.com Try them and go from there.

My GSXR 750 J runs extreemly rough between 7000

I would check and adjust the static ignition timing as if too far retarded it will tend to misfire at mid range revs. and suffer from lack of power at the top end.

HI IF THIS ONLY HAPPENS IN ONE GEAR IT IS LIKELY YOU HAVE SOME DAMAGE TO AT LEAST 1 OF YOUR GEARBOX PINIONS, HOWEVER AS WHEN YOU ENGAGE A GEAR MORE THAN 1 GEAR IS MESSHED WITH ANOTHER I WOULD SUSPECT WEAR OR DAMAGE TO THE MATEING GEAR, ON THE MAINSHAFT AND THE LAYSHAFT, IT WOULD REQUIRE ENGINE REMOVAL AND DISMANTLING TO EXAMINE FOR WARE AND TARE, I WOULD SUGEST YOU DRAIN THE ENGINE OIL INTO A CLEAN CONTAINER AND EXAMINE THE OIL AS YOU POUR THE OIL FROM THE CONTAINER, CAERFULLY EXAMINE THE BOTTOM OF THE CONTAINER FOR ANY PEICES OF METAL, IN REPECT OF A BROKEN TOOTH FROM A GEAR, THE GEARS ARE MADE FROM CAST WHICH CAN BREAK WHEN WORN, IF THE OIL IS CLEAN WITH NO METAL THEN IT COULD BE IN EARLY STAGES.

Engine filling up with gas

there is no way for fuel to get passed the rings right? So if you filled the head with fuel, it would just work its way down the exhaust pipe and out the back, just like its doing. The only way of getting fuel into the sump is; if you have seriously bad rings (it would be burning oil) OR if its getting through the breather system. I don't even think if the injectors were on full-time, it still wouldn't get into the sump... very strange. Are you sure its not coolant? A serious coolant leak can be completely unnoticeable from the outside, but catastrophic to the inside. __________________
