How much fork oil is required in the front forks of a 2000 suzuki 800 intruder and how do you measure if you put too much in. The guy at cycle gear where I bought the fork oil said to top it off or fill it up but I don't want to burst my fork seals by putting in too much and he turns out to be wrong.

Drain the fluid and measure it, the drain plugs are at the bottom of the forks leg, then unscrew the cap at top fork tube and install the same amount of fork oil as drained out.

The recommended weight is Suzuki SAE 10W fork oil. The amount for the forks is 386ml or 13.5 ounces per side.

A wobble that appears when slowing down is many times just low tire pressure. Check the front tire pressure should be 32-35 pds. Another thing that can cause a wobble is worn or loosely adjusted fork frame neck bearings(steering stem bearings). Disassemble around the handlebars down to the frame neck till you get the upper triple clamp off or can reach the adjuster nut , just underneath on top of the frame neck enough to tighten the steering stem bearings. You will need a shock adjusting tool (curved end with a single tooth) Comes standard in all Honda tool kits). Next, put a jack under the motor to lift the front wheel . Carefully wiggle the front wheel to see if you have a bad wheel bearing. If you do not have fork oil in your forks, you could possibly damage the chrome tubes. No oil would mean the forks would not go up and down smoothly. Do not add oil to your forks. Do not over fill your forks with oil. If you are not sure how much oil is in them, drain them and refill them with the correct amount. If you over fill the forks and drive the bike you will destroy the fork tubes.

According to my Suzuki service manual it states that the fork oil capacity is 11.4 U.S. oz. It also says that you must use SUZUKI Fork oil # 10. John

On my 93 it's 8 3/4" measured at the bolts on top of the tree. Handlebar risers are 4".

What is it rubbing? the fork? Is the wheel true? Are the forks equally extended. Pull the font wheel and have suzuki ck. If it is a spoke wheel then it just might need to be trued through adjustment of the spokes.

from the service manual pour oil in until 88ml from the top, but make sure form is fully compressed before doing so
