It can also be faulty spark plugs or worn out spark plugs causing this. Also it can be low voltage battery.causing this.Disconnect the battery for 15 minutes then reconnect and check if its helping to reset the no start problem. Also check battery voltage. It should be 12 volts on meter.

How to test the coils on Harley Davidson Dyna 2002:--
The engine should be cool.
There are two large coil terminals and two small terminals.Measure small terminals with meter set set on "RX1" and measure large terminals with meter set on "RX1000"
First remove the two wiring connection on the spark plug.Just disconnect it.Then remove the small connections on the coil. This connections are screw tight. So remove the screws.
Now with the meter measure the ohm reading. The reading between the two small connections of coil terminals. The reading should be between 2.6 to 3.0 ohms.----------- Now measure the large terminals. The reading should be between 10000 to 12500.If the reading is not between this then coils are faulty and coil pack needs to be replaced.

How to test crank sensor on Harley Davidson Dyna 2002:--
The crank position sensor is located in front of the oil filter on the left side of the engine in front.
Put an oscilloscope on the sensor leads and spin the engine. You should see a pulse coming from the sensor. The CKP sensor has a B+ power supply, a ground, and a signal circuit. As the crankshaft rotates, the wheel teeth interrupt a magnetic field produced by a magnet within the sensor. The sensor's internal circuitry detects this and produces a signal which the ECM reads. The ECM uses this signal to accurately measure crankshaft velocity which is a variable used in order to detect misfire, spark and, fueling.--------------- Find the wire that goes to the B+ Measure from this wire to ground for the DC supply voltage. Measurement should be taken on the sensor side of the connector. Ground connection as well.On Dyna 2002 this wire is marked BK for Black. Do this test at rest and with the engine spinning. A loose connection could break as the motor shakes. If you have voltage present with the key on and with the engine spinning move the positive meter lead to the Signal wire. This is marked R for Red on 2002 Dyna. With the engine spinning you should see a voltage signal on that wire. You should measure the signal at the sensor connector and the ecm to verify it is reaching the brain.-------- Also with meter you should get this reading on crank position sensor:--- constant 5vac with the plugs out and 3.2vac with the plugs in.If this is the reading you get then its proper crank shaft position sensor. But if you get contact 5 vac with or without plugs in then its faulty crank sensor.
----------------
For ignition module testing check for the 12 volts on main ignition live wires. If its 12 volts when key is turn on and no volt when its turned off. Then its proper voltage and good ignition module. But if its 12 volts in both on and off then its faulty module causing this problem.
