I have a carburettor in pieces of a 1998

regardlessof the make of the bike , the carby will be made by a specific carby manufacturer
look over the carby , find the makes name and model then down load the manual for it

Float in the carburettor could be stuck

When you by a carby kit it should have a diagram in the box.

G'day. Two probable causes I can think of are.1/ Faulty ignition coil/cap.2/ accellerator pump not working(carburettor models only).Have your ignition coil/cap tested first as it is easier than removing the carby to check if the accellerator pump is working.To test the accellerator pump.Remove carby,with cables & fuel re- connected- opperate throttle-should squirt out fuel from front of carby.

There is a screw underneath the carburetor float bowl chamber on the very base of the carburetor, undo and remove. Alternatively, there are four cross head screws on each corner of the bowls, remove these and cup hand under bowl to remove as there is a fibre gasket and may stick to either or both parts. Remove bowls to clean out any sediment and carby jets can be accessed inside bottom of the carburetor's.
