I JUST had this fault on a KM-1650 the other day.

  1. Press 10871087 Check the reports with program 000 and choose "Service call" instead of first choice which is "maintenance"
  2. Press Copy button to print report. It will print a list of recent service codes that have arisen. First column is total number of codes and second column is recent codes (since program 904 was reset) I bet code 0610 is there. If it is forget about the laser scanner and remove the system memory.
  3. Clean the gold edge connector thoroughly and replace it back in the connector. I usually place it back in about 4 times to scrape any oxidation off the board. I bet the 4200 code disappears. If it doesn't replace laser.

How do I reset my KM 1620 Kyocera copier.
Causes:
1. Unstable power source
2. Low/High voltage
3. Broken thermistor wire
4. Poor contact in the thermistor connector terminals.
5. Heater lamps are broken or not installed correctly.

Before resetting "6XXX" series code, make sure that defective parts have been replaced/repaired.
Reset Procedure:
Enter 1087-1087 (1087 twice) from the keypad.
Enter 163 by using keypad.
Press "Start" (the green button) twice.
The machine will restart automatically.
