there are many things that could cause that from bad gas to weak fuel pump or dirty inline filter or timing chain could be weak or dirty intake or bad catalitic converter or no converter or even a vaccum line off or cracked or even a bad EGR valve so you see theres alot of things that cause poor exceleration or idle. Hope this was some what helpfull.
check first for restricted fuel filter or defective fuel pressure,try plugging the return line of the pressure regulator if it runs ok..replace the regulator but remember not to run the engine for a minute.its just the procedure of testing the regulator..ok?
It could be a sensor if the check engine light is on, or could be plugged up cat converter, due to lack of maintenance, or could be plugs and wires needing replaced ,does this do it more when it rains.Basically need to get to a Certified Tech to get it Checked!
Does it hesitate when climbing a hill, too? Might be a fuel pump or fuel pump filter. Suspect these components when an engine stalls or hesitates when more gasoline is required.
