My air conditioner in my 1996 Lincoln Towncar is blowing hot air. I took it to get it checked, but they said the main switch that sets the temperature isn't switching on the A/C. I'm looking or the part, but I don't know the proper name for the Main Switch / A/C Heater Switch (EACS). Can you help please and thank you?

on climate control press off and heat button and let go quickly. Then press automatic. The display will start rotating eventually displaying a code 025,125 , 024 etc. Then press defrost to stop. You may hear blend door operating atb that time. It worked for my climate control.

To fix the AC unit which blows hot air all the time. Seems like you have a small leak in the system or the AC compressor has gone out. Suggest you try recharging the unit. Make sure you have the correct R-22 or 134A freeon. If this work for a few days then have the leak fixed, if this doesn't work replace the compressor. Check Ebay for the compressor i obtained one for $100.00. Cost $450 at Auto Zone.

1996 Lincoln Towncar Air Suspension Light on and Car shutting off

Check the charging system and check it while the car and engine are hot. The alternator is starting to fail when hot. If the engine is not hot the failure will not show up. And yes I have seen this happen on many cars of all types. A lot of mechanics forget that the problem may not show up till car and alternator are hot.

Had the same problem on my 99. What I found was that the antifreeze level was low. Took me more than a galllon to fill up. After that it has worked fine.
