SOURCE: belt tensioner assmebly went bad

Take the Right hand front wheel off, remove the plastic splash panel. Obviously, first remove tne belt. the tensioner should be slightly up in the wheel opening. Remove the pully, center bolt, remove the bolts attaching the tensioner asm. Local autoparts store should have replacement for around $30.00. Replace follow instructions backwards. While at auto store reference saturn manual for torque to tighten bolts when replacing. Do not over torque into aluminum block.

SOURCE: Belt is burning onto the belt tensioner pulley

One of the pulleys is bad and is not spinning. You will need to remove the belt and spin each one to see which one is locked up or very difficult to turn. The only pully you will not be able to turn should the crankshaft pully all others should spin relatively easy.

The timing belt on my 2002 Nissan Frontier 4X4 , 3.3 Liter v6 broke.I took things apart and found the timing belt tension pulley failed.I need to set#1 to tdc and cams correctly. HELP

You really need to invest ($20 or so) in a repair manual for your Frontier. Go to your local parts store and find a Haynes, Chilton, or other repair manual. It will give you all this information, plus tips on how to do any repair quickly and with the right tools.

Serpentine belt diagram mazda

2012 Mazda 3 I touring Skyactiv - Takes a 38" 6 groove serpentine belt- Very hard to find. The only place I found besides the dealer it Advance Auto but they had to order from the warehouse. There are three grooved pulleys and a smooth tensioner. To relieve the Tensioner you will need a shallow 17MM socket, it is a bit difficult to see, but if you stand on the passenger side the mount point for the socket is to the left of the tensioner shock. The Tensioner shock is just above the smooth tensioner pulley. All the threaded pulleys' (Drive, A/C, and alternator are within the serpentine belt, the tensioner pulley is outside the belt pushing down on the belt. The easiest way to replace this belt, First remove the old belt by placing the socket on the mount point and pulling up on the ratchet towards the rear of the car, then pull belt off. Next remove socket, place the belt over the drive pulley (this is the one on the bottom to the rear of the engine. ( you will see there is another belt on this pulley on the back side.), then put the belt over the A/C pump bottom front. Keep tension on the belt so it stays in place. Now put that socket back on, push up to lift the tensioner pulley and slip the belt over the alternator pulley. Make sure the belt is sitting properly on each pulley and under the tensioner pulley. Good luck. I have run into quite a few problems finding parts and information for this particular model. Good luck. Hope this was helpful

I was driving on hwy., car died suddenly, so I towed it to my house. I found out timing belt had jumped several teeth. I put new belt on, put it on marks, now my car starts and dies immediatley unle

If the belt keeps jumping, I would say you have a badly worn sprocket or the belt tensioner needs checking, it may need a new tensioner or your procedure for tightening it needs to be checked.
If no mark for the idler, then just put it at the 4 o'clock position, as you are facing it.

I have changed the oil pump and put new timming chain tensioner in, new tubo, but now the PO011 code is on and cant figure out the proble also found a vacume leak it was the crank case breather valve any...

The timing chain? You mean the one inside the head that drives the intake cam from the exhaust cam? Or do you mean the timing BELT and tensioner, that time the cams relative to the crank?

P0011 means the timing is over-advanced (if you were doing timing belt/chain work, it's probably not on correctly and one of the cams is advanced relative to the other one, or the cams are advanced relative to the crank). If that's the case, the solution means tearing it back apart and timing it again.

Cant time 6vdi dohc 24v

No you can't. The engine is set to time when the belt is put on, the computer adjusts the advance and all that stuff the dist used to do. Did you just change the belt? Dd you line up the timing marks? If it is not running right, take it back apart, one tooth off and you are in trouble. Check the belt tensioner, you should not be able to move that thing with your fingers. Get a new one, change the water pump while you are at it.

I personally Would not drive it any Further than the Mechanics Shop. It can be a Couple of things causing this Problem. Check the Belt Tension and Belt Tensioner. If the Belt Tensioner is not Keeping the Belt Tight it will cause this Problem. It could also be the Brake Master Cylinder Going Bad. It could also be a Brake Switch that is going bad and is Shoting the Lights. Have them Check ALL of these Things. Let me know if you need more Help!
