How to install door latch on extended cab door behind drivers door on 2001 Chevy S10. I have removed broken latch

Web site cannot be found when I click on the link. I have tried several times Thanks for trying I just need to know how to snap the connectors of the handle to the rods that are hooked to the latch. When the handle is installed I cannot get to the back to hook them. Thanks

Excellent First time I have tried FixYa.com found you through Google. I was trying to put the latch on without taking it apart. I did it once a few years ago but I was sure there was an easier way Thanks again I am sure I will be using you again as well as passing your. web site on to others If I have not completed this correcdtly so you are paid please let me know Bob

I am going to give you the website because it has pictures with the instructions. It shows taking it off and putting it back on. Once you click on this, it will go straight to the page, no runaround. It has everything you need and the pictures help a lot.

The lock is likely rusted and you will have to remove the inside door panel to get to it and spray it with PB Blaster and hope for the best. Work the outside handle and see if it opens up. Good luck.

2001 chevy s10 alarm going off randomly and for no apparent reason

The factory alarm is a content alarm. It looks to see if a door is opened without being disarmed by using the key or the fob. Most likely cause is a door latch assembly that is malfunctioning and sending a false signal triggering the alarm. As a side note: If there is an aftermarket alarm installed, that's another issue and should be taken to an alarm installer for diagnosis.

The cheep handle they come with always breaks don't buy a dealer replacement i found a seller on ebay that sold a aftermarket metal handle it has been great as for the other parts sorry i can't help.

this sounds like the bar that is attached to the drivers door latch has either just popped off or has broken from the lever, you will have to remove the door card to see which one it is, hope this helps

you need to remove the door trim. Remove linkage attached to latch. Usually the latch will be secured with 3-4 large phillips or torx screws. Remove old latch and reverse procedure to install new latch

2001 GMC Sonoma Extended Cab door handle broken

You should replace the handle with an aluminum version. The best one I have found is sold on eBay for 12 dollars.
Look for the one sold by mike8756.

It is easy to install, does not require removing any panels. Th first one I replaced took me about 1/2 hour. I hae done several since for friends and now takes about 15 minutes.
