  • disconnect the negative battery cable from the Altima's battery.

  • 2

Pry up the trim panel surrounding the gear stick. The trip panel is held in place by plastic clips that will disengage when the panel is pried up. Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry up the panel. The panel doesn't need to be completely removed, just pried up enough to reveal two Phillips screws along the bottom of the radio trim panel.

  • 3

Remove the two Phillips screws along the bottom edge of the radio trim panel, just above the gear stick. Remove the two Phillips screws from above the radio. Remove the ashtray.

  • 4

Pry the radio trim panel loose with your fingers or a flat-head screwdriver and remove it.

  • 5

Remove the four Phillips screws holding the radio in place. Set the screws aside for use later. Slide the radio forward and disconnect the wires from the back of the device.

  • 6

Slide the cage included with your new stereo into your dash adapter. Slide the stereo into the cage and dash adapter.

  • 7

Connect the wires from the dash to the back of your new stereo. All stereos have slightly different connections methods, so refer to the owner's manual accompanying your new stereo for the proper connection procedure.

  • 8

Slide the stereo and dash adapter into the dashboard. Use the previously removed Phillips screws to mount the stereo in place. Replace the radio trim panel and gear stick trim panel. Reconnect your battery.

  • If you are putting a aftermarket stero make sure you buy a stero harness that plugs into the cars harness, on the back side of the harness you just installed will have open wires to conet to your new stero. If you cut the wires from your car to try to splice it to the new raido it can cause problems with the electrical system includeing making the transmission shift or act funny. you can pick the harness at wall-mart, car auido, best buy, or any car auido place.

I cant find the block heater plug

Unless you had one installed when you purchased the vehicle it will not have one from the factory. These are aftermarket items that are installed after the vehicle is purchased.

Under the steering wheel by your feet, remove the 2 screws that hold the panel up. Carefully remove that, then just take your hands and start popping the dash off, but be CAREFUL!

Replace 2005 Nissan altima stereo receiver

Try radio shack, or stereo sales/installation place for ready to go plug adapter. For a few bucks, it saves headaches, and butchering the wiring in case you want to re-install old one later when trading in or selling the car.

    2005 Nissan Altima

Removing the radio from the 2005 Altima is not as straightforward as removing some screws.

    1) Pry out the panel surrounding the climate control dials.
    2) Unscrew the climate control dials
    3) Pry open the complete assembly of air vents
    4) You will then be able to unplug the radio and remove it by unsrewing 3 screws.

Nissan 2005 Altima has double-din car receivers (twice the size of normal onces). You can replace the factory radio by the usual smaller receivers or the majestic double-din receivers.

If you buy from crutchfield.com, they will show you compatible receivers and also supply the required installation gear free of cist. Best of all, they will supply you with step-by-step instruction sheet with pictures which makes it really easy. They also have a daily sunday-monday 16 hours of call centre with people ready to help you if you run into any problems with your installation and also give you 30 day money back guarantee. You dont even pay for return shipping.

If you need a 20$ coupon for crutchfield, please let me know. i can refer you.

    hope this helps
