How is the sensor connected to the engine? I had a 2000 model Pajero which did the same thing. It had to do with the way the sensor was connected to the engine, the hollow bolt they used was aftermarket and didn't let enough oil through to the sensor. So the oil has to warm up first before it can get through to the sensor.

SOURCE: oil pressure gage

At idle, at operating temp is there any ticking from top end of engine? Are there any knocking noises brom bottom end?
If no noises, change oil and add some Marvel oil to clean out galleys. If that dosent work, change oil pressure sendingf unit. Also, if you have a mechanical oil pressure gauge, hook it up and take a direct reading. Oil pressure (in any vehicle) at idle should NEVER be less than 15psi. Generally in 4.0 jeep engines it's never less than 30, with a high reading at driving rpm of about 40-60! (but, you did not mention what engine you have)

Try cleaning the fuel pump filter. Under the seat behind the driver lift the carpet and you will find a round cover with six screws remove the cover. The fuel pump is directly below unscrew the retaining round plate and remove the pump. At the base of the pump is a small filter if it is covered in black muck that's your problem. clean and replace. job takes about 10 mins good luck. please let me know how you got on!

SOURCE: 2002 jeep wrangler oil pressure gauge drops

When the gauge is at 0, is there any noise from the engine (tick, knock etc?) I would have someone put a mechanical gauge on there and read true pressure.Your driving pressure seems OK but if the low number is "real" something is wrong!

SOURCE: Kia Sedona stopped running.

When is the last time you changed the oil? It sounds like you have gummed up your motor.

SOURCE: 2002 kia sportage airbag light flashing 1 -3 code,

first thing to check, how is your battery? Are the battery posts clean? next check your fuses. replace as needed. sometimes if an aftermarket stereo has been added, the wront power cord may have been splice. need to get the exact coce and find out what it means. i have never heard of a 1-3 code, usualy there are in the form of T0222 or T444 or something close to that.
hope this helps a bit, the actual error code would help quite a bit

Oil light comes on when stopped at a light. Okay when moving. Oil levels are okay. Reving the engine when stops makes it go out.

Its possible the pressure light is faulty, or you really do have low oil pressure. The pressure is higher when the oil is cold than when the engine is warmed up.
You could replace the switch and see what happens, or get the pressure checked with a mechanical gauge in place of the switch.

After driving my car 2006 chevy impala for about 20 miles the dashboard warning light oil pressure low stop engine and the oil warning light appears, but if step on break or slow down it goes out..wha

Verify that the engine has the proper amount of oil. The inertia from accelerating may be moving the oil in the oil pan away from the sensor and causing it to send a signal, then when you slow the oil levels out and the sensor go's off. I've had this happen alot with a taurus that I owned. The simple solution was to top off the oil to the correct level and the sensor did not come on again (until it ran low again, had a leaky oil plug on oil pan).

I have a 1990 Ford Ranger 2.3 very high miles. Vehicle runs, starts and idles well. Does not visibly burn oil. Check engine light comes on at around 65 miles an hour after vehicle is warm. If you slow down...

Best guess with the information provided is restricted flow of the catalytic convertors. At higher speed the rpm's stay consistant. If the cats are not allowing the exhuast to push thru unrestricted the engine will know its labored but not why.

Oil light came on when the weather turned cold. Garage put in new light sensor. New oil. Oil cleaner. still comes on when it is cold out. goes off when engine has heated up (around 20 miles)

you need that checked out asap. you cant drive with the oil light on for 20 feet. 20 miles? if it really doesn't have oil pressure for 20 miles, your engine is toasted. have the oil pressure verified with a mechanical gauge, if you are lucky, its only an electrical problem.

Blue thermostat light comes on after driving for 5 miles or so and stays on; after driving for 20 miles or so on occasion the oil pressure light comes on when car slows down and is idling.

when the thermostat in a beetle goes, it stays in the open position, so it could be you blue light is indicating a "cold system",change the thermostat.
the oil light will come on if low on oil or you have a low pressure, try using 10/40 semi synthetic oil.and mloyslip.if no improvement you will need to renew the oil pump.

OD light on 97 Jeep comes on when it's cold outside

Calvin...... You need to treat your Jeep to a new THERMOSTAT. The Overdrive is connected to the engine coolant temperature and if the engine is n ot warmed up properly, the Overdrive will not engage. Try to get a thermostat from the Jeep dealer so you will have exactly the right one, some of the cheapoie ones will not work right. Dave in Iowa

2002 Jeep Liberty oil pressure light comes on in cold

Chrysler mounted the oil sensing unit on these motors directly above the oil filter. It is very easy to accidently hook the sensing unit with the oil filter wrench and crack or break it. For anyone whose oil light problem developed right after an oil change, this may be the problem. To change the unit, pry up the plastic retaining clip with a screw driver and unplug the wire harness. If the plastic part of the sensor is broken, (or if you break it to facilitate easy removal), you can remove the sensor with a 27mm socket. Once you have removed it, use a piece of CLEAN pipe cleaner to insure the hole isn't plugged with sludge which could also cause the oil light to come on. Screw in the new unit finger tight, then snug up with a WRENCH. You cannot use the socket to tighten it as it would damage the plastic part of the new sensor. Plug the wire harness back on, then start the engine to make sure it doesn't leak oil around the new unit.
