Try looking on the side of the block that is towards the front of the car, up high towards the exhaust manifold. near to the center of the engine.

Knock sensors on these are on the back side of the engine. You have to look up between the engine and transmission on the passenger side towards the middle of the car. It's the only thing in this area.

I have an 08 grand Prix the knock sensor has gone bad (bank 2) it's in between the engine and transmission, is it possible to replace it without removing the transmission?

What code did you pull ? How do you know it's bad ?
Remove the transaxle. Refer to Transmission Replacement for the 4T65-E transmission. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling . Remove the bolts (2) from the knock sensor heat shield (1). Disconnect the knock sensor electrical connector (3) from the knock sensor.

(1999 pontiac grand prix 3.1 v6) when I turn my engine on, should my belt tensioner move at all? It moves a bit

its suppose to move up to 1/2", it is spring loaded!! Now if its squealing or chirping at startup or when the engine is revved, the tensioner is probably worn and needs replacing along with the belt!!

1999 pontiac grandprix knock sensor ,low input bank2 what do I do

There is only 1 knock sensor on the engine. Check the connector first, and make sure you are running a decent grade of gas. You may need to replace the sensor if all else is okay

Where is the knock sensor driver side for 2001 pontiac grand prix

Hello! Here is a picture of the location of the front knock sensor for a 3.8 liter V6 3800 Series II (97-03)
(Please note that the engine is upside down on the stand)
There are 2 knock sensors on this engine, one on the front (as shown), and another in the rear. There isn't one on the driver's side, per se.

I recommend that you let the vehicle cool down before beginning this process. To remove this you will need a drip pan, as coolant will leak from the engine when the sensor is removed. You will need a deep well 22mm socket and torque wrench.

1. Jack up and support the vehicle on jack stands so that you can work from underneath the vehicle. Be sure to apply your emergency brake.
2. Identify the knock sensor location and remove the electrical connector on the bottom.
3. Using the deep well socket, remove the sensor from the block. Do not position yourself direcly underneath this, as coolant will begin to flow immediately from the sensor's location.
4. Your new knock sensor should come pre-coated with sealant/threadlock, just install it and tighten by hand until snug.
5. Torque the sensor to 14 ft lbs.
6. Replace the electrical connector.
7. You should flush the entire coolant system to be sure to remove any air pockets, and then refill.

Hope this helps and thanks for using FixYa!
