Is it possible to bypass the anti theft system on a mazda or the immobilizer to get it up and running again

No! You will have to do a lot of rewiring probably removing the wiring loom and rewiring the whole car and still no guarantee of it working! Anti theft for a reason, not possible!

1997 Chevy Cavalier. How do I bypass the anti-theft system forever?

Question edited for clarity and correct name of vehicle.

You can't bypass it Cherie, it involves transponder chips, receivers and the engine computer (ECM).. The anti-theft system is there to stop theft of the vehicle, basically what you are trying to do. You have to fix the system, not find a way around it. This is the reset. As long as you battery is good and fully charged, it should only need doing once.

Just leave the key in the run position and the "Theft System " light on the dash will be flashing. Leave the key on for about 10 minutes and the light will stop flashing and go on solid. Then the theft system is disable.

Anti theft system bypass

Another Expert may know if this can be rewired. I suspect not because the Brain must match the Keychip to allow it to start.

What does happen with some of these systems is that the Antitheft sees low battery voltage as an attempt at theft and activates the lock-out. You could have a bad battery. Or any Relay that provides power to the brain like a PCM Relay or Power Relay may have bad contacts.

This could cause the intermittent action you describe as the failing contact sometimes makes a good connection allowing starts and then reduces voltage with at times a bad connection triggering the lock-out.

There are some better testers for your battery at Autozone, and they cycle the draw at different levels trying to find a weak spot in the stack of lead plates inside the battery- takes 30-45 minutes for entire test.

If you could remove the anti-theft system, it wouldn't be called an anti-theft system. Try a different key. If that doesn't work, get it fixed. Those are your only two choices unless you think you know how to rewrite all the software code

I have a 1999 sunfire gt and it starts runs for a second and dies,my anti theft light on my dash is not blinking it just stays on,does anybody know a way to bypass the anti theft so that my car will r

Yes, unfortunately this is very common on GM vehicles. Go to this link for everything you need. Rule of thumb is this. If the light is flashing, the problem will be In the ignition or the smart transponder key. If the light is solid, the problem is in the TDM (theft deterrent module). This is the main computer for the theft system. There is a full bypass method on this link listed under PERMANENT FIX. This is what you will need. It will bypass every aspect of the system 100%.

97 sunfire tried turning key on 10 min than so on and ..... etc. this does not reset anti theft light flashes ,we do not have a key with a chip in it so what do you think ?? kelly

This 10 minute re-learn process only works if there is a small Hiccup or Glitch in the system. If that 10 minute trick did not work, it means that some part of that antitheft system is legitimately failing and would need to be fixed or bypassed. This link offers 2 different ways to bypass the system. Ive done both of these bypasses dozens of times, they both work and will not hurt the performance of your vehicle http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

My 1999 Chevy Lumina will not start. The mechanic has tried to reset the Anti theft device but it will not work. He suggest I get a new theft device. The cost is 350 plus labor. The car is 10 years old so...

right--is the problem at the ignition switch? The method at http://vats.likeabigdog.com/ bypasses the steering column. I have used this method successfully. All you need is a few resistors, an ohmmeter, and a soldering gun/iron. A complete bypass of the system is much more complicated, but there is a guy that sells a kit. I don't remember who he is, but I found him by googling.

How do you stop the security light from blanking trac off light from coming on and theft fault system from poping on when driving in a 2001 aurora after replacing the factory radio? In: Oldsmobile Aurora...

For the radio Im pretty sure you just need to call your dealer or go see them, they will take your VIN and give you a code to keep your after market stereo from kicking the theft lock.

The security light unfortunatly is a very common, and as it is just annoying right now, potentially big problem. The model Pass Key system in th 01 Olds Aurora tends to be defective in most of these cars. If the Security light, or DIC is flashing Theft fault system, you need to see your dealer. Chances are your secureity system is about to have some "Lock out" Malfunctions. These are no fun. Its when the Pass Key system detects a suspicious or uncorrect key trying to start car or someone is trying to enter car abnormally. Its actaully a very good feature when opperating properly. It usally lock the system for 3-10 minutes and the system resets and with the correct key you can start the car. The problem is that the little chips in the keys go bad causing the "lock out" to happen even when usuing the correct key. Anouther, less used key can work better, and if you start expieriencing lock outs, waiting to the system to reset usally works, but eventually those mthods will fail to and you will have to have it repaired. This system can also cause the "lock out" to occur while driving down the road.

Id get it checked and fixed before the neusance light become a real problem.

You can also consider a Bypass system that with completly go around the smart key system. They are inexpensive and effective and preventing issues with the Pass Lock. However you will not have the security settings from the Immobalizer (lock out) so it would be a easier target for joy riders. You will still have the theft deterant ability, that alarms if someone tried gaining entry to the car with out keys or proper entry methods.

Bypass systems are not full proof either and do wear out over time. I think they have far less issues than the securtity feature in the car and if the bypass fails and Lock Out occurs, simply get a new Bypass. Hope I helped a bit take care :-)
