You can check the fuse panel for a blown fuse. Replace blown fuses with the recommended fuse only. Its not safe for your car or you, to switch them to a different size. Be sure that your ignition is in the off position and take the keys out before you change any fuses. If its not a blown fuse, you could have a blown fan motor or faulty wiring but I'd start with the fuse box.

SOURCE: blower vent selector switch not working

this is what is called a factory default. for safety purposes if there is a problem with the wiring in the climate control system it defaule to the defrost position so you can see out the window. this can be a pretty tough job, the whole dash may have to come off. unless you well versed in automotive diagnostics and troubleshooting, and have the right equipment, I would take it to a local automotive technician.

2006 Mazda MPV front vent not working

Many vehicles that have both front and rear A/C systems utilize two blower motors; one for the front vents and one for the rear vents. Each blower motor also likely has its own dedicated blower motor resistor to enable independent airflow control. The most common failure items in blower motor circuits are the blower motor and resistor. When a blower motor fails it will not work on any speed setting. Blower motor resistors however, tend to maintain proper operation on HIGH speed but none of the lower speeds; this is not always the case though. Proper diagnosis begins with checking for power at the blower motor. If power is present, the blower motor has likely failed. If no power is present, the blower motor resistor should be checked for power. If power input is present but no output, the resistor has failed. If there is no power input, the fuse should be checked as either one of the component failures could have caused it to blow. After replacing the fuse the same checks should be made again to determine where the power flow stops and why. Blower works but not getting full air force

If the blower is not producing a strong flow of air, something has to be restricting it. Or something simple like the blower cage is slipping on the motor shaft.
You disassembled the HVAC box, are you sure the heater core or evaporator is not stopped up? Or the intake vent ?

Heater blower

Sounds like the blower motor resistor is bad. These things go bad all the time. and for the switching modes there is a vacuum line that runs under the window in the engine compartment and runs by the alternator, its tiny and may take a few minutes to find. check first by the evaporator case and follow it by the alternator to the driverside of the throttle body. these too break and will not allow the heater mode changes. the blower motor resistor controls the fan speeds and the vacuum line allows which vent the air flow goes through.
