I show that all 97 Maxima's use a MAF not a MAP
those are located, as shown in the picture below, part of the air intake system

Actually the absolute pressure sensor is the MAP sensor. It stands for manifold absolute pressure. The maf sensor is the mass airflow sensor which is something totally different. All newer cars have a MAP sensor. You can see the MAP sensor on top of the engine on the right next to the valve cover.

I have a 1997 nissan maxima it starts for about 8 minutes then it stalls,what can it be?

Usually up top of the intake with a bunch of hoses stuck to it, or high up on the engine with a hose from the intake going to it. The hoses can not be crimped or kinked. Hope this helps.

The absolute pressure sensor is located on the drivers side of the front
