I have a 92 Honda Accord and the transmission slips out of gear when it downshifts from 4th to 3rd. I step on the gas and the rpm's go up but the car does not move, like it is in neutral. I turn the car...

Sounds like transmission is screwed. Worn sun gears due to lack of proper care in the transmissions earlier days. Must have run dry & lost teeth on gears. New car time.... Cheaper for a used transmission to be put in then have the current one fixed.

Where's the adjustment for the timing belt on the 2003 pt cruiser??

Its not really adjustable. The timing belt is under a plastic cover on the face of the engine(passenger side end of the engine) It has two upper gears for the cams, a tensioner, rollers, and the lower gear for the crank. These are set with the timing marks on these three gears, The tensioner takes up the slack and they cant even be one tooth off. Its not easy to get to this shy of pulling the motor, so if the car is running at all I doubt its timing trouble unless its something to do with cam or crank sensors. If the car isnt running, and sounds funny when you turn it over, like it rolls over to fast or it rolls a few times and then locks up, Your timing belt is probably broke. Hope this helps, Clay

Noise from area of serpentine belt.

The best way I have found to locate a belt noise is to take a can of WD40 and spray it on the belt when the engine is running. (be careful of the fan) If the noise goes away, you know that it is a belt noise and not a bearing. When serpentine belts dry out they make funny noises. Hope this helps, cheers
