Double check your trany fluid with the engine HOT and idling in park, top off if needed, otherwise if you disconnected the battery the transmission will have to teach itself to shift all over again which should only take a mile or two to accomplish on it's own, if not the tranny is history.

My 2007 mitsabishi triton A/T gear shift is stuck in drive.I believe it could be a solenoid. It happened after driving on the beach. Cheers

Are you sure it's not just the linkage jammed up with sand? If it is internal, drop the pan and you should be able to see if a solenoid has broken, as they usually come loose from the base. Good time to change filter and fluid too.

Changed transmission fluid on crv now car wont start

might be that you accidentally disconnected the crank sensor close to the transmission, this gives a no start condition without a check engine light on most cars...

Just purchased a 94 Sunbird SE for my son (today) Started fine. Drove for 15 minutes. Shut it down and it sat for 1 hr. Started again after registration and insurance. Drove for 10 minutes. Stopped once...

Take it back to where you got it and make them refund your purchase price. If they refuse and you finianced it go to them, There a law called "The Lemon Law" that makes it unlawful to sell something like that. Sounds like you sure bought one. Don't do anything to it just get hold of the place where you bought it and tell them to come get their junk out of your yard! dhgill1949

I have a 2002 kia spectra, i was driving when it just stopped going forward, it starts fine but when i put it in reverse or drive it doesn't do anything. I was told it was the chain linkage, torque...

When you put the car in gear, do you feel it trying to move in any gear? usually if one gear goes you still have the others. I would make sure the shifter linkage is hooked up and in the right position. Not saying the trans could be bad but it's a lot cheaper to check the other (possibilities) before the trans. and torque convertor. I would even try changing the fluid and filter.
