At 34psi I was getting 25 to 30 mpg. Since changed psi to 30 am getting 17 to 20 mpg. Had a full service and cambelt change, new brake discs & pads when I bought it. Has had new fan motor for cool air and a/c and it. Has had engine emissions etc checked and its running at perfect limits apparently, have had this independently verified.

I have been given lots of advice about how to drive my automatic more economically. Most recently on here from geoff. I have been following his advice but so far no change re consumption. I dont accelerate, I hold my accelerator pedal at 1/3 or less and let the car increase at its own pace and make its way up through gears. (My patience is fine at doing this, its the people behind me I'm worried about!) No harsh braking, assessing ahead situs and allowing the car to slow on its own as much as possible.

If you are talking about your tire pressures then yes you will get less MPG with a lower pressure as more tread will be touching the road and that equates to more resistance, however the less tread touching the road means your braking won't be as good, having a higher tire pressure will also wear out your tires quicker, you will also use more petrol if you have your AC turned on,

Volvo s40 late 2003 105000km. Extra service price

Hi,you should change cambelt pully(there is a bearing inside pully before it worn out completely,it will cause high friction and heat to burn out your bell and rattling noise).buy cambelt pully from the dealer then take it to the garage ask them to put it in for you (labor about 30.00 dollars)...the rest is ok to wait until 150.000 miles.
good luck!!!!!!!!!!!

94 bmw 525 brakes starting to pulsate when i apply. not everytime but getting to be more frequent! Mike K Bristol [email protected]

Sounds like you have warped brake discs, pedal starts to rise & lower underfoot as brake applied, buy new discs. Usually the front. Discs wear thin/distort with age due to heat generated when braking.
Have fun changing them.

Hi, I have Nissan sentra 2002 gxe. After how many miles should i give the car in service? Which kind of service should I ask for? Thanks

Every 10,000 miles partial service; change engine oil and filter, air and fuel filter's, spark plug's and check brakes fluid pipes and pad's. Every 50,000 full service. partial service plus change cambelt, check gear diff and power steering oils. Owners manual or any mechanic will let you know oil grades etc.

Cambelt has gone in my 92 legacy, any special tools required to change it? is it a difficult procedure?

1st of all did it go with a bang or just not start? as far as im aware your motor is known as an interferance motor which if it went with a bang its a new motor or scrap the car, valves colliding with pistons. = write off.... but yes i wouldnt bother doing it yourself unless you get someone with ample knowledge, also you will need a universal pulley holder. the cams need to stay aligned while changing, also running off it is a water pump which you should also change, general cost for a full cambelt change is 1100 NZD over here.
