Nine times out of ten it's the fuse. fuse location's are in the owners manual. it could also be the heat element. 3 or 4 dollars at the parts store. also look under the dash behind the lighter if you can and check the wires

Fuse hasn't blown on my 2055 mitaz cigar lighter what do I need to check next as I need to be able to use my sat nav

If you have a multimeter test there is voltage at the cigar lighter in the dashboard. Try a different gadget in it as the issue could be the sat nav not the cigar lighter.

2001 cherokee laredo cigar lighter and power outlet not working. blown fuses replaced, still not working. power outlet fuse i pdc checked and good. could cigar lighter relay be bad?

No , can't be the relay , by looking at a wiring diagram the power outlet has different supply voltage . Fuse 1 25 amp is for power outlet an cigar lighter use's fuse # 2 25 amp. Free wiring diagrams here http://www.bbbind.com/free-tsb/ Enter vehicle info. year , make , model an engine size. Under system click on interior & driver amenity, then under subsystem click on cigar lighter . Click the search button , then the blue link. Looking at the diagram you will see they have different fuse's. Something up stream from there is blown . Need to look at electrical distribution diagrams. Go back to system an click on electrical distribution then under subsystem click on power distribution . Click the search button then the blue link. Scroll down to the # 6 diagram . You will see fuse # 4 50 amp location is under hood fuse box . Check that fuse .

My cigarette lighter isn't working? Can it be a burned out fuse?

The fuse could be burnt out, the lighter coil could be burnt out, or the hot wire or ground could be loose.

Lighter socket doesnt work

It could possibly be a blown fuse, just find the fuse access panel under the dash,on the inside of panel should be a diagram that will help you locate the cigar lighter. If blown replace. If it is not blown, you may need to replace cigar lighter.

2005 ford f150 cigar lighter not working

1. Check the fuse #41 in the cab fuse panel.
If you did not get an owners manual with your truck ( purchased used ), you can download one from Ford :
https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenance/owners_manuals/default.asp

2. Are you using a device ( MP3 player, GPS, etc ) to test that it is not working, or a meter ?
- Could be the fuse in the tip of the DC adapter for the device is blown.

Cigar lighter quit working

Check the fuses and if you find one blown for the cigar lighter then replace it with the same rated fuse. If it blows again check for any loose wires that would cause a short or the lighter hoiusing could be defective.

Lighters in my 95 ford windstart not working

in the inside fuse box check fuse 22, this is for the rear cigar/powerpoint socket, also check fuse 28, this fuse is for the front cigar lighter, there is good chance that both fuses are blown, u will need a 15 and 20 amp standard fuse to replace them.

I have Mitsubishi eclipse '98 GS.Cigaret lighter just stopped working. Checked the fused and replaced but it's still doesn't work. I was using a portable compressor to pump some air in my tire. I need it...

so you replaced a blown fuse to the cigar lighter and it still dosent work?.. then the wiring was compromised before the fuse blew..you need to repair bad wiring to cigar lighter and/or lighter itself internally melted /failed due to your air pump asking for more electricity than the cigar lighter could deliver..once repaired do not use the air pump there again ..good luck
