It sounds like you have a bad front wheel bearing.

If you jack the car and try to wiggle the front wheel form the top and bottom with a push pull motion it may move letting you know which side the bearing is bad,When it makes the sound you don't always find the bad bearing by wiggling it untill it gets worse.there are other methods to find it but you need a car lift to find it.

hello
Sounds to me like it could be a wheel bearing bad the best way to tell without tearing it apart would be when you are driving down the road and it is making the noise slightly turn the steering wheel left and right if the noise changes at all then it is the wheel bearing pretty commen problem

While dose my 2002 lincoln ls make a roeing sound when i get over 40 miles per hour

See if you notice it getting louder and softer as you turn a little to the left or right while you are going at speeds that makes the noise. If so, it is a front wheel bearing.

How do you put rav 4 into 4 wheel drive

I have a 2006 rav4....there is a button to the left side of the radio labeled 4WD push it and 4WD light comes on on dash. It is electronic. Bad thing is that it automatically turns off the 4WD when the car reaches about 25 MPH....This means that if you want to sling mud while going through a puddle at 10MPH while reading 40MPH on speedometer...you are out of luck.
