Ours does the same thing, and every time it goes off we find an interior light on, or the glove box is open. Somehow the electrical circuit from the lights sets off the alarm. *shrug* Weird...

That could be a sign of a weak car battery even if it is not showing any symptoms, have it checked and then replace the battery in the key remote(s)

My 2003 ford explorer, alarm goes off for no reason, horn blowing, light flashing. help

Adjust the sensitivity of the alarm system.

It may be too sensitive and is being set off by the glass breaking sensors.
loud noises usually set this off if it is too sensative.

My 1998 WIndstar has a constant door chime ring

The warning chime is on because the GEM - generic electronic module think's the door is open . Your best bet ,have a qualified repair shop check it out . Unless you have a scanner that will talk with the GEM & the engine computer & ABS computer , checking DTC'S - dfiagnostic trouble codes . If you don't know about this , take it to a repair shop.

It's going to have to be looked at. But you can try unlocking a different door with the key. Hold it to the left (unlock position) for 2 or three seconds. Should shut off the alarm and allow you to start it.

2003 Ford Winstar alarm goes off randomly. Increasing in frequency as time goes on. Often at night when all are asleep. Could it be a weak remote battery causing the problem?

Most likely it is a switch on the van. Check the hood switch near the battery . The rubber cover comes off and causes the switch to set the alarm. Good luck.
