Well this can be caused by the thermostat being stuck open. The coolant temp will not come up to expected temp. It can also be caused by the fan being stuck on. Run the car and see if the fan stays on. If the fan is not stuck on it may well be the t-stat and replacing that should cause the check engine light to go off after a drive cycle.

2003 grand marquis trouble code po 128. Heater works. 100 mile trips no problem. Temp gage below C. New sensor or new thermostat?

Well code 128 is for a thermostat problem in the fact the engine is not reaching normal temp. If you have heat the engine is warming up but still may not be getting to normal range. Normal is 190 - 210 degrees.
I would replace the thermostat first and see what happens.

Obd2 code po 128

P0128 means that your engine thermostat is more than likely faulty. The code description is engine operation below thermostat regulating temperature.

Volvo xc70 in limp mode 7 fault codes recorded d5

Possible problem with the alternator not putting out enough voltage. I had the same problem with my 2002 XC70, putting in a new alternator fixed it. I used a local mechanic who I found on the car talk web-site. Low Cost Volvo parts can be purchased at FCP Groton.

Vechicle hesitates and is giving a po 128 code in past experiences with VW's it was the temp sensor.is it the same with this turd?

It is going to be either the temp sensor or the thermostat. replace them both to avoid trouble down the road.
