Can you hear the fuel pump run?Do you have gas to the fuel rail[check by pushing down on the thing that looks like a tire valve stem after you have taken the cap off].Take a plug out and ground it to the engine and get someone to crank it over[don't touch the plug, you will get a shock, hold it against ground with a pair of insulated pliers].If you have no fire then you probably need a crankshaft speed senser replaced. If you don't have fuel then check the fuel pump fuse and swap the relay with one you know is good,if this does'nt work then it still may be the crankshaft relay or the fuel pump.Jumping pins 87 and 30 in the relay socket will make the pump run if the pump is good.

Check the ignition module fuse.if fuse is good.have car scanned to look for ignition control module fault codes or crankshaft sensor fault codes.by using or have somebody with diagnostic scanner to check for codes this way you wont spend extra money guessing.

You need to run a fault code test on the computer control module. To learn how go here. The code lists are there as well.

1993 Mazda MX-3 won't start

Check for spark at the sparkplug, to see if everything in the dist. is working right. And check the injector harness for something being pulled loose when the wires were jerked out.

The car turns over like it is going to start but won't. It is still firing, has good battery, alternator and gas in it. It is a 1996 plymouth neon. Started fine when I went to work this morning, b

tell individual working on it to check the crankshaft sensor voltage and signal when it wont start also check the fuel pressure and cam sensor, these are all possible problem with that particular car. it also has wiring issues that an expert tech would have to diagnose

Car has been sitting; will turn over but won't start. Used starting fluid and car starts but quits. Won't fire without starting fluid. There is fuel in the tank. Help!!

My first thought is to check the fuel pump operation.
Check to see if fuel pump is getting power.

This is how I check the pump.

Usually there is an in-line fuel filter that can be removed.
While its removed...bump the starter to see if gas shoots out the gas line.
If not, there might be a clog at the pump...or the pump needs replacing.

Hope this helps...

1985 Ford ranger died and will not start....getting gas..have fire to the distrubutor, will turn over but not start.

You have fire to the Distributor, but do you have fire at the plugs? The 4 cylinders had an external timing belt behind a shroud. Look to see if you broke a timing belt. Or you could have a bad stator or module in the Distributor.

Well i have a 1983 chevy s10 2.8 and its been broke down for awhile i just put a full tank in before i was having this problem the thing is it started just fine from the gas station and it was fine for two...

sometimes if a fuel pressure regulator goes bad , you will be able to smell fuel fumes under hood. a leaking pressure regulator will cause---hard starting, poor fuel economy, stalling, check engine light, gas smell under hood. also check all fuel lines under hood.

Car won,t fire up but trying to turn over its as

Lots of reasoons for a no start this answer is as if it was running OK just the other day and was starting OK. The gas tank has gas? Spinning real freely indicates to me that the timing belt broke. The oil cap off the valve cover look in there to see the cam and crank engine you should see it turn. The fuel pump may not be coming on. The fuel filter could be frozen not letting the gas go though. The spark may not be happening as A senser or also a plug wire or other wire off inspection of these things something off can be the only problem
