All depends on where it's leaking from. If it's leaking from the transmission pan, then it's going to be a bad transmission pan gasket. If it's leaking from the transmission cooler line or connections from the transmission to the radiator, replace the line or the connections or just the O-rings in the connections. If it's leaking from the transmission housing where the engine and transmission mates, then it may be the from pump or Torque Converter. The leak could be coming from the CV joint inner shaft where it connects to the transmission. Good luck and keep am eye on your transmission oil level, low transmission fluid will cause transmission failure.

Cooler line, that's a good thing. the best thing to do is go to a Transmission shop and ask them for the replacement O-rings from the line to the radiator and ask them for advice on how to replace it, if your not sure how to replace it. The line is held on in place by a C clip and all you need is a flat head screw driver to un-clip the line. This is a simple fix, and will most likely be free if you have the transmission serviced if it has not been service yet, so if your transmission oil and filter has not been changed and your over 45,000 miles or every two years. You may just want to service your transmission, the cost is an average of $100.00 for a transmission oil and filter change which is cheaper then a transmission replacement due to dirty transmission fluid. Dirty transmission fluid is the cause of the clutch wearing out through out the use of the transmission, as the particles of clutch float in the fluid. It can plug up the servos that control the transmission line pressure and change the gears and will eventually wear out the brass bushings used in the alignments of the gears. Good luck and keep me posted.

2001 Chrysler concorde has an oil leak but only when motor is running, what is the cause?

If it is engine oil leaking, it is coming from either the valve covers, the front seal at the timing cover, or the rear seal. You state that it does not leak when parked, but in most cases, the oil will continue to drip off the engine after shut off, and you will see oil spots on the ground below the car. The location should indicate where to look for the leaking area.

If the leak is not engine oil, it could be transmission fluid, power steering fluid, or even brake fluid. With the engine running, see where the fluid is puddling below the car. This will be a very good indication of where to look for the component that is leaking.

Hi Peter, the transmission runs fine as long as it has fluid but leaks out from the bottom not sure if it is the pan. I saw two holes possible in the pan. 2003 Chrysler Voyager. Is there a pump in the...

The pump is inside

Sounds like you need to get a used transmission
pan for the bottom if it is dented, leaks etc

If your loosing fluid & drive it you will ruin it in
a very few miles when it leaks out

The gaskets are on the botton oil pan,the side drive axle
seals on the case & the front pump seal you can'r see,for
